Content back

Hello there I have edited my information but for some reason was deleted! was not sure why that happened! Also, I would like to have my content back because took me hours working on it. Thank you Rony Barrak — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ronybarrak (talkcontribs) 01:54, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello Ronybarrak, I'm sorry that you lost hours of work, but I'm afraid the text you added violated a number of our rules and guidelines. First of all, since your account has the name of the subject, I suggest you read WP:COI, as another editor instructed you years ago. About the material itself, it didn't cite any sources (we need them for verifiability, see WP:V). Also, it was written in a tone incompatible with Wikipedia (see WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM). Rammstein

Of course that makes some sense because Rammstein make any rock Music like this song ohne dich that is kind of heavy metal and melodic metal too as well and why remove this Wikipedia website from this other Wikipedia website Rammstin no I’m not breaking infobox at all I’m only adding this so people can see what different types of rock they also are using in band of Rammstin and Rammstin to also make some music with the other kinds and types of rock and metal too as well because some of the songs are not heavy metal like all the other bands are doing or are using Rammstein is not like the other bands in the entire world, but they are using the other kinds and types of metal in the song’s, seaman and Frühlingsblüht Paris (Paris) and ohne dich and links and Ausländer and sonne and many other songs in Rammstein is using or made with some of the other kinds and type of rock and metal too as well.

Ok, I noticed you fixed the infobox in a later edit.
First of all, what you are doing, technically speaking, is using the article Rock music as a source/reference for the genres mentioned at the infobox. Because you are using the following format: <ref>https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_music</ref>. However, I assume your intention was to have "Rock music" mentioned alongside "Neue Deutsche Härte", "industrial metal" and "gothic metal". In order for that to happen, you should actually add the following code: * {{nowrap|[[rock music|rock]].
This was the technical explanation. However, I'm not actually encouraging you to add rock music to the genres. Those genres are discussed in a more specific section of the article. In order to have rock music added to the list of genres, you would have to come up with several reputable and independent sources to back that up. Your own personal analysis doesn't count (see WP:OR). At best you could add hard rock, since it is sourced with multiple references at the aforementioned section. Ex band member status question

Hi Victor, I was browsing through Avantasia albums and I saw that Michael Kiske was mentioned as ex-Helloween on The Scarecrow (album). At first I figured it was based on the date of the release of the album, but I noticed that Roy Khan was mentioned as ex-Kamelot, Conception (band), while at the time of the release of the album it would have been the reverse. So I figured it's probably supposed to be based on the present-day status, not the album release day. So I changed Michael Kiske to no longer be ex-Helloween and also decided to take a look at other albums, which is when I saw your invisible comment and reverted my changes. What are your thoughts on present-day vs album-release day? If you still think it should be based on album release day, Roy Khan on The Scarecrow would be Kamelot, ex-Conception. I'll leave it to you to make this change.

Hello, @Ambyjkl:! Unfortunately, consistency across the project is yet to be achieved, especially because there is no rule dictating one usage or the other. I used to apply "ex" according to the musicians' current statuses, too. But then a couple of editors argued against that and I came to realize it does make a lot of sense. Line-ups change regularly; imagine if we needed to update articles every time a certain guest leaves or joins a band. But the main point is, the musician was a member or a former member of a certain band back when the album was released; what happened afterwards will hardly be of any relevance to the album. In the case of Kiske and the Metal Operas, we shouldn't even cite Unisonic as one of his bands, for example, because Unisonic was only founded many years after the albums were released. PS: If you would like to hear opinions from other editors, you can start a topic here. Victor Lopes Fala!C 21:33, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Yeah I agree, the ex stuff is hard to maintain since it keeps changing, and it's hard to agree on. Also, I don't see any value in the chronology, since I'd rather keep Unisonic in the Metal Operas since it would be a good way for someone to discover the other works of Kiske. My opinion is to just mention the top two or three from the "Associated acts" sections and just drop the exes from everywhere. Thanks for linking the project page, maybe I'll start a topic in there at some point. Ambyjkl (talk) 22:27, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

List of best-selling Latin albums

Hey Victor! That discussion on the Latin music project reminded me of something. I am overhauling the article for best-selling Latin albums in my sandbox. Originally, the person who wrote the article only included Spanish-language, but you know me, I push to include Portuguese-language music to be included in discussions with Latin music. So for the list's criteria, I figured an album can be included either by language or genre. So if a Portuguese-language album sold over 2 million copies it'd be included just like an English-language samba album that sold over 2 million copies would also be included. I think I got most of the best-selling albums from Brazil covered, but feel free to include any more Brazilian albums that I might've missed. Erick (talk) 02:59, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Magiciandude, oh, that's some really great work, congratulations! Most of the well-sold albums I could think of didn't hit the 2 million mark, but if I come across any, I'll surely add them to the list. Victor Lopes Fala!C 19:09, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

Dream Theater

Hi there, not sure why the review was taken down as Wall of Sound is not only a credible and reliable source, but has been providing reviews for various bands and musicians for seven years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalcub (talkcontribs) 01:21, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

@Metalcub: Hi there, I don't know if they're reliable or not; like I said in the edit summary, the reason I reverted the addition is because the review was not sourced. Victor Lopes Fala!C 02:12, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

HeKz

Hi Victor,

All the edits I've done on the HeKz page are correct as I've been in contact with Matt Young for over 15 years all information re- cd releases and band members is accurate.

I would appreciate if you could revert the edits that were done by me.

No I can't prove anything I've done but it was approved by Matt Young himself.

Thanks Strutter1964 (talk) 04:22, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi Victor,
Almost everything on the HeKz page is incorrect.
Cheers Strutter1964```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Strutter1964 (talkcontribs) 05:11, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
Hello @Strutter1964:, I'm afraid your message contains the very reason why I can't restore your edits: if you can't "prove" the information that you added, then that information cannot stay because our content needs to comply with our verificability policy. Readers have the right to check sources to confirm if a certain piece of information is correct; this means information we add to Wikipedia needs to have been previously published somewhere else (a book, a news story, etc.). The information contained within the article right now was obtained from a number of reputable sources; if there's anything incorrect, the band should contact the sources themselves and request the corrections. Cheers, Victor Lopes Fala!C 14:44, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
Hi Victor,
You are right, this is all too hard. You have Al Beveridge as a former member twice, Terra nova hasn't been released yet, due for release in 2022.
You've missed Caerus which was released in 2014. Correct release date for Tabula Rasa was 2012.
If you look here https://www.discogs.com/artist/1446008-Hekz everything is clear.
But carry on I'm sure you're all over it.
Strutter1964 (talk) 18:07, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
Hello @Strutter1964:, I did the corrections, except for the Terra Nova release date, because I couldn't find a reliable source for that. From the band's Facebook page, it looks like they'll make an announcement in a couple of days from now, maybe it will help us. Btw, Discogs, much like Wikipedia, accepts contributions from anyone and is not considered reliable, therefore (see WP:ALBUMAVOID). Thank you, Victor Lopes Fala!C 16:22, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
