Hello Schubi87. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "LaTeXML".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/LaTeXML}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 20:01, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

formula rendering

[edit]

Did I understand you correctly that you would prefer math and science editors in WP to upvote your bug/test suggestion on bugzilla? If so I don't think the editors really understood that. Another issue might be that bugzilla requires a separate account, so it might not be clear to the WP editors whether any Wikipedian can/should register and vote or whether the registration is just meant for actual developers. In might me helpful if you could post some clarification here.--Kmhkmh (talk) 21:51, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Mathematics/temp‎

[edit]

A week ago I moved this revision to main page. The greatest difficulty in doing these improvements has been getting any feedback. You can see my postings on the various talk pages. At the moment the text is stored at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Mathematics‎/temp while I have still got the longer working text (with options ) at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Mathematics‎/sandbox. I thought the text I submitted was ready for main space where it would be exposed to editors with more expertise, but others say it still suffers from notes and other weaknesses. So lets use that as the starting point.

As you made a posting (all be reverted), could you have a look at the /temp version and make the changes needed (When you have time or a space on you todo list). It would be helpful to know where I am barking up the wrong tree. I will cross post to Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Mathematics to allow (entice) other experts to join in. -- Clem Rutter (talk) 13:38, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Birthday problem/test

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Birthday problem/test. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Birthday problem. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Birthday problem – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Eat me, I'm a red bean (take a huge bite)i've made a huge mess 12:27, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

LaTeX project

[edit]

Hi Physikerwelt,

I made a note back in September to tell you about the LaTeX completer project that's mentioned here: mw:Google Summer of Code past projects#WikiToLearn projects. I can't remember whether I already passed this link along, so here's either a duplicate or a belated note for you. I hope all's well with you. We are a pretty eclectic group, most of us doing our own thing. But since you are in Physics, you might be interested in my attempt to "Showcase" student efforts in first year physics and astronomy courses. Since this is not journal quality material, I decided that instead of an open access journal format with referees and editors, I would just select the best student efforts and "Showcase" them on this Wikiversity page. I just began doing this last Fall, and at the moment it is not well organized. Also, it is becoming clear to me that most of my useful student contributions will not be to articles, but to my effort to create an open source v:Quizbank of multiple choice exam questions. But here is a sample created by a freshman college physics student. It is on this private wiki-node so the students can write assignments that only I can see (that way they can't "copy" each other's efforts). I wholeheartedly support the creation of open access journals in wikitext, but suspect a "showcase" approach by individual experts might be more convenient to establish. --Guy vandegrift (talk) 17:51, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Guy vandegrift: the idea with the Quizbank is great. I started somethin similar with excercises for engineering students from [1] in 2010. I was using semantic mediawiki but currently the pages are somehow broken http://pw.physikerwelt.de/wiki/Sinussaite. I'm currently more focussed on the repersentation of mathematical formulae in wikipedia projects in general https://www.researchgate.net/publication/313240688_mathwikipediaorg_A_vision_for_a_collaborative_semi-formal_language_independent_maths_encyclopedia ... Anyhow, I'm interested in further discussion about your projects and efforts and would like to discuss more details in a virtual meeting.--Physikerwelt (talk) 18:49, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Not now, but someday in perhaps a couple of years, I would like to create studyguides for the openstax calculus books: Calculus Vol 1 - Calculus Vol 2 - Calculus Vol 3--Guy vandegrift (talk) 18:09, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
