Notable Residents of Toongabbie

[edit]

your friend Tim Girling is a Hero!. Robbie 06:27, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you remove Tim Girling from that list? He lives there, thats is his job, so who says hes not notable? You dont even live there, so how can you comment on that? Parradudes 01:57, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What makes Tim Girling notable? Notable Residents listed should have a link to references. Otherwise they will be removed. J Bar 03:45, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TNT(wrestler).jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:TNT(wrestler).jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. AWF

[edit]

Results of shows is not an appropriate source. You need verifiable news reports to confirm everything that has been marked on the AWF article. I suggest again that you fully review the rules of notability at WP:NOT !! Justa Punk !! 08:10, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Our discussion should be held on the AWF talk page. Please also note the third opinion that appears on my talk page. !! Justa Punk !! 07:21, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply from The Hybrid

[edit]

Hello :). Yes, you most certainly did the right thing in contacting me. I'm afraid that this article may not pass our notability standards, but I'm not positive on this. I'll be bringing this up on the project talk page so some more people can assess it. If it does pass, then it will need some more sources, needless to say. Since this appears to be more than a one man job, I would get you some help in sourcing it. In the mean time, make yourself at home. We have soda and fried chicken in the fridge, the bathroom is down the hallway - second door on the left, and feel free to watch whatever you'd like on the TV. Cheers, The Hybrid T/C 02:09, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like it is notable enough for an article, so hopefully I'll be able to get some people working on the article. BTW, the official site indeed should be linked to. This stuff I've been reading by another user saying you shouldn't use it is a bunch of bullcrap. Cheers, The Hybrid T/C 07:40, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My friends can handle it. The two that joined in both have several good articles under their belts, and will probably have several featured articles in the near future. The other person has already agreed to give the article a couple of months, so they should be able to pull an acceptable article out of it by then. BTW, just use the official website. If he says no, then come to me with his statement, and I'll give you your reply to him. I'm not going to leave you hanging; feel free to contact me any time. Cheers :) The Hybrid T/C 03:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've done 2 things. First, I explained the situation at the AfD, and rather than make a bunch of lofty promises I actually told the voters exactly what I was going to do to improve the article, so I'm optimistic. Second, while I'm optimistic, I did plan for the article being deleted. I copied all of the material in the article to User:The Hybrid/AWF, so even if the main article gets deleted you and the rest of us can still work on it, and then put it back into the mainspace. Deletion doesn't mean the end of an article; it just means that you have to work on it somewhere else for a time. Cheers, The Hybrid T/C 05:28, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yo back!

[edit]

I'm glad you understand. It's easy to spit the dummy over something you love. It's really important here on Wikipedia to remain neutral and level headed. !! Justa Punk !! 05:19, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Mark Soper (Salvationist)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mark Soper (Salvationist), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. TNA PPV's

[edit]

They aren't dark matches. TNA used to air a free live 30 minute show right before their PPVs, similar to what WWE used to do with HEAT (before they turned that into a internet-only show), they didn't have a name for the previews though. They have since stopped doing this though. TJ Spyke 23:36, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Parramatta Citadel Band

[edit]

This speedy deletion request has been withdrawn following the establishment of notability per WP:BAND Guideline #7.

Apologies Parradudes, for forgetting to remove the tags from the article. I'm not normally that lax. :) Thor Malmjursson (talk) 01:51, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Parramatta Citadel Band

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Parramatta Citadel Band requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mattinbgn\talk 02:43, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with that any form of notability has been established. With all due respect it seems no different to the many other worthy but non-notable church bands and choirs in Australia and around the world. Given that a previous speedy deletion tag has been withdrawn I will withdraw mine but I will list it for discussion at WP:AfD. Regards, Mattinbgn\talk 02:58, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Parramatta Citadel Band

I have nominated Parramatta Citadel Band, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Parramatta Citadel Band. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. November 2009

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Talk:Officer of The Salvation Army has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. HamburgerRadio (talk) 23:35, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Soldier of The Salvation Army a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.
