Edit warring on the template

[edit]

Everybody needs to chill, stop issuing ultimatums, etc. It looks as though some IP editors want to change the template to the 1951 flag. In my view, as the information on the main article (Libya) still says the government and flag are disputed based on reliable sources, this change is premature. Hopefully Gaddafi and his minions are arrested or killed soon so disputes like this won't drag on, but for now, international recognition is split, control of the country is split, and this template needs to remain in line with other articles on Wikipedia. And let's discuss here instead of having ourselves an edit war. Please. Cheers. -Kudzu1 (talk) 18:29, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok but just to show you that some editors put the libyan rebel flag even though it is not compeletly in power yet, here is a picture http://i.imgur.com/dWc96.png 93.107.201.80 (talk) 20:55, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not singling you out, I just don't support that change until it is clear that the new government is in power and Gaddafi is relegated to the dustbin of history (insha'Allah). -Kudzu1 (talk) 02:35, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok then, I will wait till that happens. 109.77.27.254 (talk) 13:00, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the 1951 flag is now clearly the de facto flag of Libya. If there is a "rebellion" at this point, it is the rebel city of Sirte, in rebellion against the TNC in Tripoli. --dab (𒁳) 08:31, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
