Foreshock?

[edit]

I'm not seeing anything that confirms the 16 October M6.3 as a foreshock of the 29 October M6.6. Unless a source for that appears, it would be safer to just rename this page to 2019 Mindanao earthquakes. Mikenorton (talk) 10:12, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Even if sources do appear, the earthquakes have their own separate impacts, so the plural title looks appropriate to me - see also 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes for a similar situation. Mikenorton (talk) 18:39, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Merge request

[edit]

Moving request it will be a 2019 Mindanao earthquakes 111.125.82.20 (talk) 04:50, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Casualty numbers

[edit]

It's preferable, I think, to only use casualty numbers produced by the NDRRMC in their regularly updated situation reports, rather than relying on what news outlets produce. You can find the latest situation reports from the ReliefWeb link in the "External links" section. Mikenorton (talk) 09:47, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be wise

[edit]

To wait to edit some of these things until later in the day after these shocks occur, once more 'concrete proof of specific figures' have been produced? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.254.152.32 (talk) 00:44, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Earthquake swarm?

[edit]

The article currently has this sequence as an earthquake swarm. This claim is certainly not unreasonable, but it lacks a supporting citation. I'm hoping that Phivolcs will issue a definitive report on the sequence soon. I've looked through other reports, but failed to find a mention. I've added a cn tag to see if anyone else has had more success. Mikenorton (talk) 20:58, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Monocotman for adding a source in support of that claim. Mikenorton (talk) 18:25, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

adding another eathquake of november 18. 2019

[edit]

I would suggest that you add the 18 November 2019 - 09:22 PM 07.66 124.89 005 5.9 008 km N 24° W of Kadingilan (Bukidnon) to the list.

and maybe you could mention the hundreds of aftershocks in the article. I was personally in Kadiapawan - the centre of all three major ones (and the 5.9 again) - during the first earthquake on oktober 16 and i appreciate the work you put into this. thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.11.72.73 (talk) 15:31, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Phivolcs are not linking the Nov. 18 earthquake to the earthquake sequence covered by this article - see their primer. Mikenorton (talk) 16:00, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As to the aftershocks, I'll think about how we should handle that, maybe just a mention. Mikenorton (talk) 16:00, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Columbio Earthquake

[edit]

Hello. There is a draft by the name 2019 Philippines earthquake which I think is better named as Columbio Earthquake. I proposed a merge of the said draft to this article since it is one of the many series of earthquakes that happened in Cotabato Province.—Allenjambalaya (talk) 15:45, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It does not seem to contain any information not already in this article. Mikenorton (talk) 16:07, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
