WikiProject class rating

[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:24, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to see a source that confirms the house Clarke was named after the Archbishop of Melbourne, Henry Lowther Clarke. My understanding was always that Clarke was named after Lady Janet Clarke (1851-1909) a significant benefactor to the school, a member of the first school council and a great supporter of women's education in Victoria. [see Janet Clarke's entry in the Australian Dictionary of Biography][1] WikMatisse (talk) 09:17, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other Alumnae to add include:

Arts Dr Jaynie Anderson Hannie Rayson Liz Jackson Valentine Leeper Clarice Beckett Hilda Rix Nichols Ada Mary A'Beckett

Medicine Dr Nancy Mills

Mathematics Frances Allan

Sport Margot Foster

School song

[edit]

Perhaps someone can put some dates on the school song when I attended MCEGGS (1954-1958) "Except the Lord build the house" words (modified?) from the psalm, music by A.E.Floyd ? MargaretRDonald (talk) 23:58, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
