soviet pakistani relations

[edit]

a separate article is needed on the USSR's relations with Pakistan. One is already in the simple english wikipedia now we need one here —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.227.90.213 (talk) 23:06, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tatarstan and Caucasas Emirates

[edit]

Since when did Pakistan show support for Muslim separatists in Russia? Pakistan never recognized any separatist regions in the Muslim Caucasus and when was the last time Tatarstan republic tried to seperate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.227.68.85 (talk) 07:52, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Pakistan–Russia relations

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Pakistan–Russia relations's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "The Economist":

  • From Soviet war in Afghanistan: Editorial (July 31, 2003). "Tricky diplomacy". The Economist. Retrieved January 4, 2012.
  • From Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq: Editorial (Jul 31st 2003). "Tricky diplomacy". The Economist. Retrieved 4 January 2012. {{cite web}}: Check date values in: |date= (help)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 10:21, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No merge

[edit]

Don't merge Russia and Soviet Union foreign relations articles, the two are not the same entity. --Soman (talk) 12:35, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Russia and Soviet Union are two different entities. NO merging required. --Sooraj (talk) 09:35, 11 Sept 2012 (UTC)

Proposed merge

[edit]

I propose merging Pakistan–Soviet Union relations into Pakistan–Russia relations#Relations with Superpower: 1947-1991. Keeping in view that article was created in absolutely wrong manner by blanking section.

Oppose. Russia and Soviet Union are not the same, and as there were no Pakistan-Russia relations prior to 1917, this is not really a problem. Pakistan-Russia relations begin in 1991. --Soman (talk) 06:08, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Points are Valid. I agree, Russia and Soviet Union are not same. A new page needed for Pakistan-Soviet Union relations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.239.196.222 (talk) 02:25, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment re other pages creation

@Soman: @Faizan:
Comment: The Pakistan–Soviet Union relations page was created here in July 2012, apparently as a result of the removal/copying of text from this page, per this edit. 220 of Borg 14:16, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
