Parvatipuram is one of the oldest town and has its historical importance. Senior journalist of the town Mr. Gumma Vasumathi nath has excavated the records and found that Parvatipuram is in existence since 1896., as Parvatipuram town. After searching of several records, the fact was brought into light and instinct of celebrating Utsav provoked amongst the People’s representatives and local people. The first representation submitted to the Hon’ble Chief Minister “Dr.Y.S Rajasekhara reddy” during the inauguration of Pedda Gedda reservoir Project, and later to Sri “Satrucharla Vijayarama Raju”, Hon’ble Minister for Forests, Andhra Pradesh, there after Shri Vijayaramaraju and Sri “Vyricharla Kishore Chandra Suryanarayana Deo” Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha took every initiative for the conduct of celebrations from 27th December to 31st December 2006. A civic body constituted to organize the function. Parvatipuram Utsav 2006 logo was designed by Sri “Gumma Srikrishna” and “Suresh”. Project officer I.T.D.A Sri “A.K.Sinha”, Sub Divisional Police Officer Sri “N.Sudarsana Rao” and Revenue Divisional officer Sri “B Satyanarayana” guided civic body and cooperated for the successful completion of the celebrations. Mandal Revenue Officer Sri “Sitapati” and Muncipal commissioner “Krishnarao” extended their services. All the Municipal civic Body headed by Smt. “Narasimha Priya Thatraj” extended cooperation and participated in these celebrations. The celebrations have its high lights in Cultural programmes organized by “G. Vasumathinath”. Local talent was exposed with their artistic talents of traditional and folk cultures. About 10 Lakh of people witnessed the cultural Programmes. Veterans like cine writer “Ganesh Patro”, Music Director “R.P.Patnaik”, Great Sadguru “Vemakoti Krishnayaji”, founder of Surya Peetham of Parvatipuram and Surya Sadanam of Garividi attended the celebrations. About 500 artists performed their talents during the celebrations. PRESENT MLA : Savarapu Jayamani

Wikipedia:WikiProject_Indian_cities has some good outlines and examples to follow. Most of the listings should be reorganized to prose, and only notable features should be mentioned. Keep in mind the guide is for large cities. The towns shouldn't require as many paragraphs. AngusWOOF (talk) 15:22, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
