Living needs disambiguation

[edit]

The living of Alresford is actually a dab page. Need to choose between Alresford, Essex, New Alresford or Old Alresford (latter two in Hampshire). -- Chris j wood 14:51, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First use of term British Isles

[edit]

The first use of the term British Isles that is recorded by OED is by Heylin in 1621 but OED does not claim, as far as I know, that he coined the term. According to British_Isles_(terminology)#Renaissance_mapmakers it was earlier used by Gerardus Mercator (1512), Giovanni Magini (1596), Abraham Ortelius (1570) and Sebastian Munster (1550). Therefore removing statement from this article. Nurg 01:56, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
