Differentiate Ratzinger/Benedict

[edit]

Hi there,

I'm afraid I don't have time to work on this right now, but I'd like to leave a suggestion here to improve this article.

The books should be split into 3 groups:

  1. books by Joseph Ratzinger
  2. books by Pope Benedict XVI
  3. books by Pope Benedict in which papal authority is disclaimed (the three from the "Jesus of Nazareth" series)

The reason is that for Catholics these groups carry different significance and authority. This distinction is carefully made by the author himself, by scholars quoting him (it's not correct to quote "Introduction to Christianity" and say it's from Pope Benedict XVI, it would imply some sort of papal authority where there is none).

Even for everybody that does not recognize any special authority in Popes, it is useful to distinguish which kind of doctrinal authority Catholics attribute to it, so that discussions are meaningful.
