Awkward Chinglish title

[edit]

The current "Gods material shop" title is an unnatural English translation, which native speakers may not understand. Neither Google Scholar nor Google Books records this collocation. I suggest we retitle, translating shénliào 神料 as "religious goods", "religious artifacts", "religious paraphernalia", etc. and shāngdiàn 商店 as "shop" or "store". What would be best? I moved it to "religious goods store", which is the most common in English. Keahapana (talk) 23:25, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

But, User:Keahapana, now the title is too generic. Religious goods stores exist all over the world, in places that have nothing to with China, selling Christian, Muslim or Hindu religious goods. From the article I don't get the feeling that Chinese religious goods stores are significantly different from others; hence I think the article should be rewritten to describe a generic store. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 20:36, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
