Not sure where to work this in...

[edit]

From what I've been able to research, the distance situation in this event between main and event venues (15,716 km, according to the main Olympics article) is farther than even the special circumstance the 1956 equestrian events had to face (the distance between main venue Melbourne and equestrian venue Stockholm is roughly 15,589 km). However, I'm not sure where to work this in (I had been thinking one of two places: as a note [a] at the end of the lead sentence, and/or as a short third paragraph in the lead of the 1956 equestrian events' article), I didn't have the confidence to just simply add it where I wanted to, and I feared blowback based on a tidbit on the article for the venue that did not factor the 1956 special circumstances... 208.84.120.75 (talk) 18:16, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe mention protests about environmental impact of steel watch tower?

[edit]

There have been protests about the environmental impacts of the errection of a larger steel watch tower for the surfing competitions: - https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/oct/27/tahiti-surf-tower-sparks-protests-against-olympics-kooks-before-paris-2024

Apparently the matter has been already decided: - https://www.surfer.com/trending-news/surfing-activists-defeated-teahupoo-aluminum-tower-paris-2024-olympics — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thoshie (talkcontribs) 10:15, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
