Fair use rationale for Image:Swire.svg

[edit]

Image:Swire.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Can we have some more?

Is this all the information we can manage about this major Hong Kong company? Come on folks, let's expand this article. Earthlyreason (talk) 08:28, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion of Swire Group and Swire Pacific

[edit]

"The Swire Group (SEHK: 0019,SEHK: 0087,OTCBB: SWRAY) is a transnational corporation headquartered in London, England. "

1. The company that is listed in Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code=0019; 0087) is Swire Pacific, not called Swire Group.
2. The registered office of Swire Pacific is 2 Pacific Place, Hong Kong.
3. I think the company that's HQ in London, England is John Swire & Sons Ltd, the controlling shareholder of Swire Pacific, a private company.
4. I think more attention should be paid to distinguish what "Swire Group" this article is trying to cover, the one controlled by John Swire & Sons Ltd (Swire Pacific is a sub-group) or the group controlled by a listed company, Swire Pacific, which is based in Hong Kong.
5. Finally, a more fundamental question is can this be done without separate articles for a) John Swire & Sons Ltd; and b) Swire Pacific Ltd and its subsidiaries and associated companies?

Swire Properties is one of the leading developers in HK and the Mainland, therefore, it deserves a page standing on its own

[edit]

Hi there, I think it should cancel the redirecting service on the search for Swire Properties page. Instead, it deserves a page given its large company size. However, I don't quite know how to cancel the redirecting service but would anyone be so kind to cancel it so that I can prepare a dedicated Swire Properties page? Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Swire Group. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Anchor?

[edit]

"Swire is an anchor bottler..." what's one of those? I mean, I know what a bottler is, but "anchor"? 31.48.245.110 (talk) 17:44, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
