Help

[edit]

I have done a lot of the work on gathering information for this article and filling the article with content (Changed it from a 2 paragraph stub to a full length article), however most content available about this topic online is from either the entity itself or other travel sites that make money by promoting it. Because I have read all of these advertisements and sites so many times, I am having a hard time detaching myself from the regularly repeated buzz phrases. If anyone could offer assistance by paraphrasing what is here, finding better sources for particular parts of the article, or even pointing out particular pieces that need extra attention, it would be greatly appreciated. I will do my best to go through it and fix the problems myself, but assistance from others would be very helpful. Additionally, some section may require deletion, as they focus to much on the advertisement and not enough on useful information. Simply put: I need help from a third party to make this article more objective. I will do my best on my own, but help is probably needed to make this article the best it can be. I'll take a look at it over the next couple days; from what I've seen so far, although it needs a bit of clean-up or re-wording here or there, I haven't found any obvious copyvios or anything. AlexiusHoratius 19:57, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Saw your plea for help on the Museum discussion board. I went through and made it sound less like a commercial. More importantly, I regrouped the different sub-sections so they make sense and have a logical flow. I usually find that, if you don't know where to start on an article, the sections are messed up and this was no exception. I also added a map and made a few other minor changes. This still leaves you with a time-consuming task of fixing the sources and making it sound less like the website, among others.RevelationDirect (talk) 13:23, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sections to Rewrite

[edit]

These are some of the sections that I noticed probably need to be rewritten for various reasons. Adelstein Gallery - Rough Copy, just needs rewording to flow better. Family events - Intro Paragraph - NPOV and needs to flow better. Permanent activity tables - Needs to stand alone better. (i.e. not start out by referencing previous section.) Children's Library Lab - NPOV Books and videos - Possibly needs to be rewritten to better reflect NPOV. Experience Science - Close Paraphrasing If anyone has more to add, or thinks one of these is fine as it is, please post that. Fact-of-the-matter (talk) 15:43, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Curator

[edit]

The museum's website lists different curatorshere. As this is a matter of who is employed there, I would imagine going straight to the source is most reliable. Since there are different curators for the different major exhibits some which do not appear to actually be on staff there, perhaps we should just leave the curator section of the infobox blank (and thus it would not even appear on the page at all). That being said, I am going to go ahead and remove the curator listing from the infobox and if anyone disagrees, we can discuss it below.Fact-of-the-matter (talk) 15:44, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That was based on a simple Google search of "The Journey Museum and Gardens" and "curator". Based on my total lack of knowledge of this artice's subject matter, I'm honored that only 1 of my 22 recent edits has been reverted!RevelationDirect (talk) 01:48, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing

[edit]

I've done some checks, and there does not seem to remain any. However, if there are further concerns, feel free to add the banner once again. Grandiose (me, talk, contribs) 12:18, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
