The result of this discussion was merge. Nrco0e (talk · contribs) 19:37, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@SkyFlubbler and The Most Comfortable Chair: There happens to be another pre-existing duplicate article titled Alcyoneus (galaxy), so I'm proposing to merge Alcyoneus (radio galaxy) into Alcyoneus (galaxy). I also propose to keep the shortened title and preserve the more detailed contents from Alcyoneus (radio galaxy). Nrco0e (talk · contribs) 04:23, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My bad — I missed that there was already an existing article on the topic. Thank you for noticing, Nrco0e, and I support this proposal. — The Most Comfortable Chair 04:37, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I support this proposal. No point in having two separate articles of the same object. Alpha Piscis Austrini (talk) 08:42, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have been unable to edit recently due to proxy issues, but I have long been wanting to initiate this merge. To be honest, I only recently discovered the article after I made the draft submission and got blocked.

Yes, I do support this merge, but I hope more detail has to be included in the article, and keep the tone to be at an encyclopedic, professional level as the original article for me, at least, is at the science blog level of writing. SkyFlubbler (talk) 08:02, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's nothing that can't be fixed by editing, whether before or after any merger. I too support this. Does anyone have any strong preference for the name? I'd suggest that "(galaxy)" is sufficient disambiguation, so that seems to me slightly the better name. Both seem to have usable content though, so on the face of it some actual manual editing work is needed. 109.255.211.6 (talk) 16:45, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
