Intentions regarding renewing this article

[edit]

I would aim toward writing an article about the beer and brewing industry in New Jersey akin to my work on New Jersey wine. For now, I have copied the history discussed in Alcohol laws of New Jersey and aim to expand it into the sections below.--ColonelHenry (talk) 19:29, 1 February 2013 (UTC) I would intend to have the article comprehensively discuss:[reply]

  • History
  • Colonial brewing -- the first short-lived dutch effort, colonial taverns and their impact in the revolution, english and dutch tastes in early beers, etc.
  • 19th Century: Immigration of Germans and others in Newark, Jersey City, etc., Ballantine, Hensler, Feigenspan, Kruger, persecution against Germans in WWI.
  • Prohibition and its legacy on the industry.
  • The big breweries closing (Ballantine, Rheingold, Pabst), leaving behind only Anheuser-Busch.
  • 1990s laws opening the way for microbreweries and brew pubs
  • Market issues: production, revenues, licensing issues, other statistics.
  • Types of beers produced (with a discussion of types of beer produced and artisanal methods.)
