The Bourke's Parrot is reclassified from Neophema Bourkii to Neopsephotus Bourkii. Wiki is referring form both Neophema and Neopsephotus. So this should be corrected.

I looked at the source, and yes they say that. However, the Neophema bourkii name is used much more frequent, and they do nopt provide the underlying taxonomic source so that it can be checked. I will add the name as a synonym, making clear that the naming has not yet been resolved completly. KimvdLinde 03:33, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Could this be used a a source:

The naming of this species is already a discussion for a long long time, and how it is resolved depends on who is looking at it. I think the animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu website sums it up nicely:
Throughout their taxonomic history, Bourke's parrots have been placed in the genus Neopsephotus (e.g., Immelmann, 1968; Simpson and Day, 1999) or in the genus Neophema (e.g, Barrett, 1947; Eastman and Hunt, 1966; Macdonald, 1973; Simpson and Day, 1986).
Anyway, it is not wikipedia's place to resolve this issue, and the best way to proceed is to mention it as an ongoing discussion and place the species under the widest used name (among scolars) untill there are solid arguments to diverge from that. I think I will change the name to Neopsephotus as that seems the current most used name among them, just give me a few days. KimvdLinde 15:57, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
