Issues with specific albums

[edit]

The Catherine Wheel

[edit]

Is there a reason The Catherine Wheel is not included in Eno's discography? He is credited as a performer, as well as composer on two tracks. It seems to me that if Day of Radiance is included, tCW should be too. --Register allocation 03:51, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's easier to catalouge what is considered an "Eno" album if it contains his name on the album cover. Check WP:Discographies. Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Empty Landscapes

[edit]

I haven't been able to find any specifics on this album -- track list, personnel, cover art... There is an entry for it on the [discography at starpulse.com], but the link just goes to an empty placeholder page. --Register allocation 05:46, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably doesn't really exist or is unotable. Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Work With David Bowie

[edit]

Eno and Bowie produced three albums, Low, Lodger, and 'Heroes'. Eno was credited as both musician and producer on those albums. (24.6.43.14 (talk) 18:58, 24 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Can you cite that? I only have 'Heroes' of those three and I know he did some tracks but by WP:Disocgraphy suggestions, those things aren't to be included. I can't find that he produced it either just they co-wrote some tracks. Andrzejbanas (talk) 09:01, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

However, Eno DID NOT PRODUCE LOW, although he was involved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.10.112.202 (talk) 18:58, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Air Structures

[edit]

I would highly discommend including bootleg albums in discographies. It may not be a big deal for Eno, but for groups like The Beatles or Pink Floyd, cataloging bootlegs could be wikis all their own. IMO, including bootlegs is not a precedent we want to set. --Register allocation 05:47, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Noted and removed for the most part! Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vocal and Instrumental Box Sets

[edit]

The Box sets should be included in the discography.

  1. From 1992 until the recent spate of remastered releases, they were the only source of remastered material from Eno's catalog.
  2. They still represent the only legitimate release of a number of songs from My Squelchy Life

--Register allocation 21:25, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added! Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nerve Net

[edit]

Does Nerve Net really belong classified as an instrumental album? According to the lyrics listed at hyperreal.org, "Fractal Zoom", "Wire Shock", "What Actually Happened?", "My Squelchy Life", "Juju Space Jazz", "The Roil, The Choke", and "Ali Click" all have notable sung or spoken accompanyment. --Register allocation 23:20, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not seperated as an instrumental album anymore but as collaborations. Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Empty Landscapes don't exists

[edit]

This is the first time I read about a Brian Eno album called "Empty Landscapes". It don't exist in the official discography. But also in the many bootleg lists I never seen a record with that title. All the web pages featuring this title are taken from Wikipedia and give no informations about the edition and the content. A track titled "Empty Landscape" was published in "Music For Films Vol.II" in the "Working Backwards" box set, and it was recently re-issued in "More Music For Films" (2005). I think it is better to delete that title from the album discography.--Diego Cuoghi 20:44, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done and done again see above. Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dumping

[edit]

I'm dumping these extra details here as I'm not sure how to integrate them yet.

A detail missing from the maid discography page:

dividing with album's music style

I did make this type of discography, of course I think currnt type is not bad. But for Eno, the distinction of glam rock/electronic/ambient is more important than solo/collaboration/live. --Zepelin (talk) 13:02, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's fairly important too but I think those things can be discussed within their respective articles. We already have it split but collaborations and eps, and singles and compilations and albums. Too much would be confusing I think. Because what would we do then? Should we split up Eno's production based on rock albums or ambient albums too? I think it's okay how it is. It follows the generally same format that most of the other FA'd discographies have, so I think it should stay like this. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:46, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On thinking about it, your seperation of styles is important, but to incorporate it. Maybe we should expand that opening paragraph in the discography section. That can explain when Eno stopped being a rock musician and jumped to the ambient wagon. That's just my thought, any suggestions? Andrzejbanas (talk) 03:35, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Textures

[edit]
  • ESL003 Textures - Brian Eno "Atmospheric ambient/electronic works by Brian Eno with Daniel Lanois & Roger Eno." [1] Standard Music Library date?

All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 13:58, 9 February 2016 (UTC).[reply]

I came here looking for Textures too. Then I found it has it's own wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textures_(album). It may present a classification problem because it was not commercially released to the public! I'll leave it to someone else to decide whether it should be listed and, if so, where! ;-) OldBoar (talk) 18:52, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I was searching for this album too. In my opinion it should be listed, possibly with the comment "not commercially released to the public". No reason to exclude it from the discography: the enciclopedia should also give this information. --Angelo Mascaro (talk) 16:31, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Collaborations section

[edit]

Can someone please move the boundary between 1972 and 1973 so that "For Your Pleasure" appears in 1973 - I can't figure out how to do it while at the same time retaining the credit to Roxy Music.Freewheeling frankie (talk) 15:13, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A Year and Long Now

[edit]

I own these two Eno CDs and I would like to add them, but I want to avoid errors. Is there any Wikipedia rule that prevents from doing this? https://www.discogs.com/Brian-Eno-Long-Now/release/1514616 https://www.discogs.com/Brian-Eno-A-Year/release/235880 Both are official Opal Records pressing, with material unavailable elsewhere.

"King's Lead Hat" single was published in 1978, not 1975. --Bellman (talk) 07:14, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks – solo or rather collaboration?

[edit]

Why is Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks album considered here to be a solo album and not a collaborative one if it was not composed and produced only by Brian Eno? Starigniter (talk) 01:01, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
