What are the sources? If Charles Riviere-Hérard really fought in the Haitian Revolution (He would have been not even 14 years old at the end according to this article) it is not all that likely that he was much of a military commander at such a young age. -fg 03:51, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Madiou says he fought in the revolution. More likely, he was a commander under Pétion during the war against Christophe.

"Ainé" means "the elder" He was Charles Herard the Elder. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stewart king (talkcontribs) 04:24, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
