[edit]

Hello, I am editing this page as part of a graduate course. Areas of the page that I see as needing work are as follows:

1. There are few references for a large amount of the page and many of the references indicate information may be outdated.

2. The lead section is limited and doesn't provide a concise explanation of complement control proteins for those unfamiliar with their context.

3. The section listing the members could use brief descriptions of the individual CCPs as several of them do not have their own page and it may provide readers a reason to investigate those further.

4. The mechanism of protection section is highly limited and doesn't really describe a general mechanism of function. Additionally, I believe there are some inaccuracies in the explanation of Factor H function.

5. The structure section is highly limited and not clear in my opinion. If additional information cannot be included I believe this section adds little to the page.

In summary, I feel the page is limited in its coverage of CCPs and many times does not speak to the general characteristics that define this family of proteins. I intend to elaborate on their role and function, potential implications of clinical relevance, and provide additional sources from recent literature that will help develop the page further.
