Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because... --99.101.70.86 (talk) 15:11, 1 June 2011 (UTC) Death Gospel is rapidly becoming recognized as an emerging genre of music, and requires the proper representation through websites such as Wikipedia. The genre, while still materializing, is not as established or commonplace as genres such as 'techno' or 'folk', for example, however that does not discount its manifest and significant actuality. Many articles referenced and quoted on the page, refer specifically to "Death Gospel", and these are from highly influential and credible music publications; Paste, American Songwriter, The Vinyl District, Stereo Subversion, Colorado Springs Independent and the Philadelphia City Paper. Perhaps the category should not be listed as just musical genre, but also mythology and/or philosophy... something along those lines? Music develops and evolves much like Wikipedia itself does. If we fail to acknowledge and represent these changes as they are happening, then we inhibit our own culture from expanding beyond where we currently exist.[reply]
