NFL I--Seattle

[edit]

Fixed the section by adding some things and the date of the Jets 1998 game. It was not the last game of that season as the poster claimed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seattlehawk94 (talkcontribs) 10:00, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • This RFC is to discuss if extended details regarding the OSU win over Notre Dame in the 2001 Fiesta Bowl is appropriate here, or if it should be in a different location, such as 2001 Fiesta Bowl or 2000 Oregon State football team. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 02:40, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just to clarify, the comparison is shown in this history comparison: [1]. --Bobak 14:35, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • The latest details added into Dennis Erickson's biography were sourced by "AgntOrange." These insertions should not constitute any major debate over their authenticity as they are simple, well known, facts most Oregon State fans are intimately familiar with. In addition, the statements previously challenged have been sourced to the best of my ability at this point in time. Still, some may not "precisely" state what my insertions say, but should provide adequate proof to sway most readers my work is factual and does not stray from the truth. However, I do plan to periodically strengthen my sources over the next week and I hope this will again quell any doubt over the authenticity of the newly inserted edits. Side Note: It is becoming increasingly difficult to find written material still posted on the internet and available for free viewing. Many of the articles my facts originally come from are archived within newspapers and only available for a fee. Still, I have assembled as many similar stories as I can find at this point to back up my statements. Of course, more will be added in the future if necessary. Thanks for your opinions.

NOTICE: Unless there are some specific issues with the article, which can be proven untrue, I am going to remove this request for bias review tag. No "specific" issues have been discussed in the over 3 weeks this article has been presented... I think it has been given adequate time for all to review. --User:AgntOrange 11:25, 11 Sept. 2007 (UTC)

You have done an admirable job of updating the section. I'm worried that the section still suffers from bias issues, but I'll be bold and try to resolve those and remove the tag. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 01:06, 12 September 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Okay done. Please look over what I did and make changes where appropriate. The only thing I ommitted was the sentence about the Mud Bowl game against USC - the details for that game are important for Oregon State, definitely, but not so much for Erickson. Also, believe it or not, I think we have too many references. Please look at the sentences with multiple references, and pick the best one that you think supports the fact. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 01:55, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In all honesty, I feel my last edits were an improvement from what I currently see. However, I'm not interested in making any more changes to the article from what you have already done. In other words, if you are able to keep the changes you've currently made and... not remove references. I'm not going to push for more edits. Please do not remove any of my references. Many are difficult to find due to the age of topic. Plus, fewer references will only open the paragraph to more incorrect edits in the future. Just leave them... they aren't going to hurt anyone. Thank you. AgntOrange October 9 2007

Oregon State section

[edit]

I dispute the "fact" that the 11-1 season was Oregon State's "best." I would suggest arguments could be made for the 1907, 1914, 1926, 1933, 1941, 1962, and 1967 seasons. I even believe arguments could be made for the 1999 season, end of the Streak, and the 2006 season, with all of the drama. Finally, I don't know if it's possible to "right a sunken ship" ("resurrect a sunken ship?"). I suggest a better phrase should be used. Wilkyisdashiznit (talk) 08:34, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I took the "best" sentence out because it was an uncited opinion. It also was ambiguous. I don't know which was more vexing. I also changed "right a sunken ship" to "resurrect" because it makes more sense.Wilkyisdashiznit (talk) 23:27, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
