80-100 concerts

[edit]

"According to the band's statements, they play between 80 and 100 concerts, of which only 20 in Finland and 40 to 50 in Germany." 80—100 concerts in what time? Each year? Or have played in their entire career? Source? --ZeroOne (talk | @) 15:29, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In finnish wikipedia it says that they play those 80 to 100 gigs per year (or played due the break until 2008).
Let me clarify that Eläkekäiset has not broken up, they are just having a year off of their 100-gigs-a-year routine. :) Humppa forever! -- 212.213.204.99 21:08, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eläkeläiset and humppa

[edit]

While Eläkeläiset is a humppa-band per se, humppa style of music is represented rather differently in Finland, where there are hard-touring dance-bands that compared to Eläkeläiseti are much more polished and suited for formal dancing occasions. Whereas Eläkeläiset by style is much more rockish, which is seen in their shows and fanbase. This is so not to confuse the humppa Eläkeläiset plays to much more formal, dance-oriented humppa most Finnish humppa groups play.
