origin of nickname?

[edit]

Perhaps somebody could add something about the origin of the nickname? I don't know anything myself.

I do not know, although I have met him several times over the past few years. Bearian 17:39, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that when growing up in DC, his parents worked as french diplomats. The kids riffed on him about "french filllphy peechures" and thus earning his nickname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.164.202.130 (talk) 19:22, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Idk about his parents being diplomats, but part of it was a take-off on Lucky Pierre, "always in the middle", plus the above-mentined feelthy postcards from France. Source: he told me this at a science fiction con back in the day. 2602:24A:DE47:B8E0:1B43:29FD:A863:33CA (talk) 23:51, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
