Working Hours

[edit]

He proposed eight, not nine daily working hours. Changed it. See: Piden, hoy los jornaleros que se les reduzca las horas de trabajo. Quieren que se les fijen en ocho al día.--Tresckow 02:47, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why Francisco?

[edit]

I don't understand why the article is titled Francisco Pi y Margall, and then begins Francesc Pi y Margall. Moreover, if the given name is to be in Spanish, then his surname should be without the y (i.e. Pi y Margall), given that the y is not usual in Spanish. However, if it is to be in Catalan, then the convention for Catalan surnames indicates it should be Pi i Margall. Either it should be in one language or the other. In any case, in my opinion, given he was Catalan, his name should stand as Francesc Pi i Margall.

If there is no opposition, I shall make the appropriate corrections. --YuriBCN 12:07, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

I oppose. Here are two examples of his own use of the spanish Francisco: a book written by him and his seal. Therefore any change towards the use of Francesc is POVish. --MauritiusXXVII (Aut Doce, Aut Disce, Aut Discede!) 18:24, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest the article is renamed to Francesc Pi i Margall: this was his real name, and "Francisco Pi y Margall" is a subsequent Hispanification. The same naming policy has been followed in many similar cases, like Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia (instead of Francisco Ferrer Guardia), Marcel·li Perelló i Domingo (instead of Marcelino Perelló Domingo), etc. Viator slovenicus (talk) 20:06, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've just reverted an article name move because the user who made it did not request the move at wikipedia:Requested moves as our guidelines suggests and because the translation to Catalan of the name of the person is not proven to be the one used By Pi y Margall itself. Here above are two examples I brought 3 years ago of his own use of the spanish Francisco: a book written by him and his seal. Therefore any change towards the use of Francesc is POVish. --Maurice27 Vandalize. 20:02, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Where is his house?

[edit]

I've heard on different Wikipedia articles in different languages and it said he died at his home. Does anyone know where it is? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SoftPillow503 (talkcontribs) 01:22, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@SoftPillow503: Calle del Conde de Aranda 15, Recoletos neighborhood. Here (40°25′18″N 3°41′11″W / 40.4217397°N 3.6864759°W / 40.4217397; -3.6864759) if street numbering has remained the same (it seems plausible as the street is rather short).--Asqueladd (talk) 20:42, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
