Ceased Operations

[edit]

Hello everyone,

German Airways has not ceased the operation. As you can see if you google the airline.

https://www.planespotters.net/airline/German-Airways

https://germanairways.com/

Could someone please be so kind and remove from the info box the ceased operation section?

Page hijack?

[edit]

There've been several recent attempts to replace the content in the page, including the company history, with what appears to be an account of some other company. I don't know whether our article is completely wrong, or if this is an attempt to take over a page that is substantially correct and replace the content with stuff about a different company. Either way, I suggest that there should be solid editor consensus before such a radical change. Can you shed any light, Vita8123? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:54, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Justlettersandnumbers,

you can check yourself if the content is relevant and up to date. As you can see here for example the fleet size is not 20 as in the infobox. https://www.spotter.koeln/index.php/spotterstuff/airlinespecials/german-airways/germanairways-flotte-2021

Please read my edits and see them as a suggestion and accept the one you think are relevant.

What can i do to participate at the article?

[edit]

This account is managed by several users and is paid writing. The goal is to keep the article about our company up to date. German Airways (talk) 15:09, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Update Proposals

[edit]

Hello everyone,

i have a few suggestions for updating the article.

I would be very grateful for any feedback or adjustments.

For general information about my account: The person or organization behind this account declares, in accordance with the Terms of Use, to be paid by Zeitfracht Group for edits to Wikipedia.

Many thanks in advance,

the Zeitfracht Group Content Team

Intro sentence: The headquarter changed from Düsseldorf to Cologne:

German Airways Fluggesellschaft GmbH, operating as German Airways and formerly named Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter or LGW for short, is a German airline headquartered in Cologne.

History - Sale to Zeitfracht Group and rebranding:

In mid-2020, German Airways introduced the LIGAFLIEGER marketing brand, which focuses on charter offers for sports teams. Customers include international soccer clubs as well as teams at national level. Customers of other team sports such as basketball and rugby as well as teams from the motorsports sector also use the charter services.

Fleet:

As of September 2022, the German Airways fleet consists of seven Embraer 190 aircraft with an average age of 15 years and two Pilatus PC-12s.

Aircraft In Service Orders Passengers
Embraer 190 7 1 100 (12/88)
Pilatus PC-12 2 6–8
Total 9 1

Amending the intro sentence, particularly about the Dusseldorf-Cologne change seems fine. On the fleet, the idea is good, but planespotters.net is not a great source. Is there anything else which is independent and maybe more reliable ? Perhaps a link to the German aircraft register or something at LBA ? I am not happy with adding a mention to a Zeitfracht brand like LIGAFLIEGER - this sounds too much like a company trying to self-promote itself and having a conflict of interest. Hello,
first of all, thank you very much for the quick reply and the suggestions.
Unfortunately, we have not found another external source regarding the fleet. But if this one is not suitable for wikipedia, I will keep searching.
Regarding the mention of the 'LIGAFLIEGER', we could simply omit the name of the brand and write the following:
In mid-2020, German Airways introduced a new marketing brand, which focuses on charter offers for sports teams. Customers include international soccer clubs as well as teams at national level. Customers of other team sports such as basketball and rugby as well as teams from the motorsports sector also use the charter services.
Just let me know as soon as i can make the updates that are in accordance with the wikipedia rules. Zeitfracht Gruppe Content (talk) 11:25, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The issue is not about whether you include the brand name or not. The problem is that as somebody paid by a company, you would be making edits on Wikipedia that promote the company - thus you are not writing from a neutral standpoint but instead have a (thankfully, declared) conflict of interest. Hello again,
now I understand your point.
I just thought it was ok to mention the 'Ligaflieger' brand, as this was also accepted on the German Wikipedia and approved by the admins.
Updating the fleet is only possible with another (more reliable) source?
Many thanks! Zeitfracht Gruppe Content (talk) 07:33, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
