History 1974

[edit]

The history is not quite correct. We never heard of Hazelwood East High until the Fall of 1974. It came as quite a suprise to return to "Hazelwood High" from summer vacation that year and find not only split shift but the school had changed it's name... even though we never stepped foot in the building in Spanish Lake. I thought it sucked but with all us boomers, looking back, what else could the district do?

Court Case

[edit]

Should mention Hazelwood v. kuhlmeier, a first amendment rights decision of some importance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hazelwood_v._Kuhlmeier —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.85.152.193 (talk) 01:13, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed this as well and I agree. I'll try to work something in if I get a chance. Jetterman (talk) 00:37, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Point of view

[edit]

This article lacks a neutral point of view and seems to boast about the school and students. Biased and unverifiable claims should be removed. Rej5y7 (talk) 19:06, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed several obviously biased claims from the article. It still needs to be expanded and could definitely use an image in the infobox, however. MMS2013 02:31, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To kill the noise Rej5y7; HE is in top 15 winningest football programs in the country! Don't hate, it's not nice. As I said initially, Hazelwood East is a POWERHOUSE in highschool football.

Are we sure the highschool brawl section is needed?

[edit]

It mainly results in discussions and talking points like this (https://counter-currents.com/2024/03/white-girl-twitch-a-lot/), overwhelming racial grift. White supremacy circlejerks, to a lesser extent you get another circlejerk on the darker side of the spectrum. I was there when it made rounds on social media and it's popular solely because of the reactionary aspect.

It being characterized as "Assault" first thing despite no sources saying such is also a sign most editors that know enough about it to add to it may be biased in one way or another.

I'd say delete it, but give me your opinions. Vladimir Hunter (talk) 05:23, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ludicrous. The only one mentioning race is you. 24.57.55.50 (talk) 14:39, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
" "Assault" first thing despite no sources saying such" - just pointing out, this is just ludicrously untrue. READ the copious citations - instead of complaining about their being *too many* sources. 24.57.55.50 (talk) 13:52, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your sources are unreliable and excessive. Reverted. 146.115.58.160 (talk) 14:58, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No. That's preposterous. Dont like those? Add others. There are hundreds of options. Please stop vandalizing the article. 24.57.55.50 (talk) 15:25, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The point is that we don't need hundreds of sources, and you clearly haven't read WP:RS. People like you is exactly why I stopped being an active contributor here. I'm sure you'll get blocked again soon anyway. 146.115.58.160 (talk) 15:35, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We're all adults, we all know why this hit the news in the first place. And Please stop edit warring ya'll, discuss here before we add it again please. Vladimir Hunter (talk) 20:59, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your claim that "we all know", please elaborate. I dont know what you think. Speak plainly. 24.57.55.50 (talk) 22:39, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Based on your edits and your energy here, you know.
I already explained why as well, if you need me to clarify a specific bit of my reasoning, I'm happy to help. Vladimir Hunter (talk) 00:00, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nice non-answer. You make an assertion, then play coy. Please, what is your motivation? What is it that you claim "we all know". I'm waiting. 24.57.55.50 (talk) 22:18, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can re-read my initial message to remind yourself of my unfiltered opinion on the incident. Vladimir Hunter (talk) 01:16, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Right. So you've got a fantasy-land world view, and you are enforcing it on this page. You've revealed your obvious POV and intent here. 24.57.55.50 (talk) 13:29, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have undone vandalism to restore the quality of the article.

Restore Assault Section

[edit]

Propose that this edit be restored to this version which includes comment from the Govenor (general comments about violence) and Attorney General (about high-school choices he suggests contributed to the assault); https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hazelwood_East_High_School&oldid=1213588951

or this version, which includes only comment from Attorney General; https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hazelwood_East_High_School&oldid=1213895463

Note to readers; please review the comments in the above ("section is needed") and the edit-comments here (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hazelwood_East_High_School&action=history).

There was an effort (successful really) to create chaos by another user to have the section omitted. Please read the edit comments and talk to understand 'how we got here'. 24.57.55.50 (talk) 21:03, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Restored mention of the assault in the history section. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 03:46, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
