List is very incomplete

[edit]

I wish to point out that this list is lacking the names of most other saints as well. What about Sri Yukteswar Giri or Lahiri Mahasaya? I am planning to add these individuals as well. --Siva1979Talk to me 08:25, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Most noteworthy?

[edit]

What is the defination of most noteworthy here? Does it imply the number of people who are aware of the existence of their presence or the impact these saints made to this world? There are a few of them who are not well known to the general public, but their actions and thoughts created a deep impression in this world in a subtle manner. --Siva1979Talk to me 08:30, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Notice

[edit]

Both articles cover identical ground so it makes perfect sense to merge them. However I would rather the title 'Guru's and Saints' be kept as it is more encompassing than just 'gurus' - also this list, although small, is more perfectly formed than the other list, which includes some strange spellings and links to non-existant pages. So maybe there could be a merge in the other direction? Ys, GourangaUK 14:12, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, list articles should start with "List of". If we merge to the "List of" article, it could then be moved to List of Hindu gurus and saints. Or the other article could be merged into this one, then this one moved... I agree that this one is neater. Feel free to start adding missing names to this one... —Hanuman Das 01:37, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead and done it - with the new title you suggested above. Both pages now re-direct to that one. Best Wishes, GourangaUK 10:11, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
