Move proposal

[edit]

It's not clear why this page is at 'Jackie Lewis'. Not yet found a source which uses that name.

Even the sole link in the article (at time of posting) refers to him as Jack not Jackie.

Propose move to Jack Lewis (racing driver) as 'commonname': Eagleash (talk) 18:58, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

FORIX (subscription site, so I can't post a direct link), also refers to him as "Jack". However, formula1.com, Racing Reference and Driver Database call him "Jackie"... DH85868993 (talk) 00:15, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Marlboro Grand Prix Guide 1950–82 (1983) p.442 also calls him "Jack"
  • Contemporary reports in Motor Sport mag. seem to call him Jack as well...but I haven't checked them all as I've used up my article 'allowance' for the time being.
  • @DH85868993: I'm not sure it's worth changing after all? Perhaps a redirect – Jack Lewis (British racing driver), to avoid confusion with an American of the same name? ...And an 'AKA' in the 'Jackie' page? Eagleash (talk) 00:53, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Since Motor Sport, Small, FORIX and Mike Lang's Grand Prix! all refer to him as "Jack", I would not object to the article being moved to Jack Lewis (racing driver), per the original proposal. But if we decide to go with the redirect option, I think just "(racing driver)" would be a sufficient disambiguator until the American driver gets an article.
