Greenaway Medal

[edit]

What source was used for Kate Greenaway Medal achievements?

I have revised the 1987 listing from Highly Commended to Commended and provided a reference. I have no source for shortlist 1994 or any other before 1995? --P64 (talk) 16:21, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP's edits

[edit]

Hi. I am unable to understand the reason for this edit, which has been made repeatedly by the editor 81.139.101.69.

In my edit summaries I have suggested that their edit summary could suggest what they are doing and why, but without response. I've now asked them on their Talk page and I might also request that they drop in here to discuss it. (Update: done.) From their contribs is appears that they do perhaps know what an edit summary is, but are not fans of using them.

The effect of their edit is (1) to change She showed an interest in writing and drawing at the age of six to She showed an interest in writing and drawing at the age of 6 and (2) to delete "Mother Knows Best! (2011)" from "Works > Non-series picture books".

In the case of (1) their idea seems to be contradicted by common practice, but also by MOS:NUMERAL which states Integers from zero to nine are spelled out in words; in (2) I do see the book listed in places such as this Amazon page, so it appears to exist. Why is it a good idea to remove it?

In both these cases it is entirely possible that the IP editor has a point, but at the moment I am failing to see it. If they would only engage with this query then we might get somewhere. If they don't then I fear the repeated unexplained edits could soon begin to look like deliberate disruption, or some sort of competence issue – I hope that we can resolve this sensibly. Thanks and best wishes to all DBaK (talk) 22:07, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
