What does it mean to say, "She is the current half marathon world record holder in contests with mixed-gender fields"?

[edit]

In the lead it says, "She is the current half marathon world record holder in contests with mixed-gender fields." What does this mean? Her time was not as good as the male winner. Does it just mean that both men and women competed at the same meet? As opposed to a meet where only women competed? Would this be significant? Maybe it means women and men ran at the same time? Yes it does, there is one world record for women's only events, and another one for events where men and women compete. Whilst it's the terminology that World Athletics uses, we should probably make it easier for people to understand. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:17, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
