Notability

[edit]

The notability in question here is the book, which is what this article is about. While the article has many references, there is no indication that they are discussing the book and in fact many of them predate the publication of the book, some by decades. Similarly, one could construct an article about a modern collection of anyone's letters and create a seeming of notability by adding references to the subject or to earlier discussions of the letters. The issue is whether this book - this specific compilation of these primary source documents - meets Wikipedia:Notability (books). There is nothing in this article talking about this book except the lead. Note that even the "criticism" section is about the letters and their contents - the first section predates the book completely. There is nothing in the modern criticism section to suggest that the topic of conversation is the book, and not the author of the letters himself. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:30, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
