Locations

[edit]

They have three locations? The store in Santa Monica closed a while back, though their website says there's a new one coming on Melrose in LA. --Bobak 22:21, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As of now they do have three locations at 126 Prince Street NYC, 1512 Haight Street in San Francisco, and at 7972 Melrose Avenue in LA This information can be found at their website

Merging Munny and Dunny

[edit]

Information on the "Dunny" toy has recently appeared on the Dunny article. It's not appropriate there, and I'm not sure it's notable enough for an article on its own, so I've temporarily put the info on the Munny article, and am further proposing that Munny be merged into this page. Thoughts? FiggyBee (talk) 22:37, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I noticed that Figgy Bee moved the information under the section Dunny over to the Munny page and she/he suggested that Munny be moved over to Kidrobot. This sounds fine except that the Dunny page should also have a link to the Dunny/Munny/ Designer Toy Section. That way if someone wants to look up Dunny they can, without knowing first about Kidrobot. In fact maybe Kidrobot should be added to the Designer Toy page, if one exists. . I thought the move a little inappropriate (sorry Figgy Bee) because it was done roughly 5 minutes after I put it up. I know that Wikipedia is a community and that is very important but the community might benefit from talking together before possible sabotage of ones first post. I will be consistently editing Dunny/Munny to bring more general information and would love suggestions from experienced Wikipedians. I do think that such individual toys come with entire communities, and have various historical and social contexts which give them notability. Once again, I would love help so that my post will survive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Humboldtbettie (talkcontribs) 00:02, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The links on the Dunny page aren't needed, because if people know about the toy Dunny, but not Kidrobot, they won't find and follow a link to Kidrobot at the bottom of the Dunny page. What they are more likely to do is see that the Dunny article isn't about their toy; follow the link to the disambiguation page at the top of the page; and work out where the correct page is from there. That's what disambig pages are for, and what the normal procedure is when one article title could refer to a heap of different things. :) I don't mean to discourage you from adding information about Dunny and Kidrobot at all! But I do think that that information should go either on the Munny or Kidrobot articles. FiggyBee (talk) 00:50, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and by the way, there is indeed an article at Designer toys, which does link to Kidrobot. FiggyBee (talk) 00:54, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you FiggyBee for your response. Please note that I respect the fact that you know more about Wikipedia than most. However, my first inclination when finding the Dunny page was not to go to the disambiguation page and work out where the correct page is. It would be nice if Wikipedia used a different term than disambiguation. That is a large word for new users. My first inclination was, wow, I cannot believe that the Dunny section is so incomplete and I went forward to editing and providing references to it. Dunny is not Munny and not all people that know about Dunny and Munny know about Kidrobot. The Dunny page is already there and could house all the various histories, definitions, of the term Dunny. My goal was not to advertise for Kidrobot but rather build upon the term Dunny as it is in a realm of its own. I will do more homework though as I proceed on this realm of history. Thank you again FiggyBee. I have learned more from you. --Humboldtbettie (talk) 01:39, 29 January 2008 (UTC)P.S. How do you know about Dunny/Munny? Hope you are having a good day... Once I learn how to talk on your talk page I'll do that instead of here.--Humboldtbettie (talk) 01:30, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Disambiguation" is a big word? So's "encyclopaedia". If you want to play with the big kids you've got to learn to use big words. -- Zsero (talk) 04:06, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I learned about Munny/Dunny from reading the wikipedia articles - never even heard of them before today. :) I have the Dunny article on my watchlist because it is often vandalised, which is why I noticed your edit. I never doubted that you have good intentions with your edits, it's just that it's wikipedia policy to use multiple disambiguated articles for two completely different things that share a name rather than putting it all in one article. Otherwise, things would get confusing (imagine all the John Smiths lumped into one article, for example...) FiggyBee (talk) 06:01, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editing

[edit]

This page is currently flagged for not meeting wikipedia quality standards. To fix this, I will be dividing the article into multiple sections starting with History, Locations, Toys & Collectibles, and Apparel. What do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by David ju (talkcontribs) 21:27, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just edited the format; however, I realized that this page is in desperate need of citations...I realize that a lot of the information is coming from the official Kidrobot website, but citations are still needed! — Preceding unsigned comment added by David ju (talkcontribs) 21:47, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
