I am from Kirkham and I cant see why "well-known celebrity and linguist Felicity Long" is mentioned when a) I and no-one I have know has ever heard of such a celebrity and b) Even a google serach (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=%22Felicity+Long%22&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB) brings nothing up of any particular relevence.

I appreciate that there is not a great deal of any note to mention about Kirkham, but I am sure that the article could be better then metioning a made-up celebrity. Of course there is always the possibility that I am being ignorant but non the less there are better things that could be written about kirkham. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.92.227.135 (talkcontribs) 23:39, 2 July 2005.

As you see I have done my best to comply with your words above (pity you haven't identified yourself!). I couldn't find her either so have deleted her. If you see this - can you now add anything I may have missed out? Peter Shearan 15:30, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Also needs image of church again?

[edit]

We now have the excellent separate article for St Michael's Church, Kirkham, but should there also be an image of St. Michael's, or perhaps one of Kirkham's other churches, also here? Martinevans123 (talk) 12:18, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pubs

[edit]

Why is the list of pubs in the town being deleted as "promotional"? The paragraph isn't offering any opinions about them, only that they exist. This kind of content seems fairly common and unremarkable for Wikipedia articles about British towns. Belbury (talk) 15:40, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
