Lara's page needs serious expansion! She has had a long career with the same caliber as fellow divas Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Tina Arena, and all Lara has is a stub article?! Can someone help me expand this? Biograghy, CD Singles, chart success, anything? Mseames

I somewhat expanded Lara's page (though I stupidly wasn't logged in at the time). I am still hoping to expand the page to the degree of the other diva's pages. I still could use assitance with Lara's singles, sales successes and chart successes. Mseames

I revised the article a bit to keep it up with the format of other singers' entries. As I've stated, it is still in dire need of citations, which unfortunately I'm current unable to supply. Any contributions would be appreciated. At the same time, I will keep an eye on the article and try to find ways to improve it. Keith Galveston (talk) 08:45, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is Lara

[edit]

I will try to help develop this page. I guess the reason it is so limited goes back to Lara herself. She has hidden herself from the spot light that nobody (in North America) really knows her. I don't know why she does this... She's not famous in Canada where she resides, where as she is at the top in Europe. Maybe she should hire a public relations agency or something. Any tours coming up? any news? Doesn't seem like it.

Fair use rationale for Image:AWL.jpg

[edit]

Image:AWL.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Footnotes needed

[edit]

I think there ought to be more citations/references on this page. When I was browsing through the trivia section I saw an interesting piece of information that I wasn't awared of, so I looked it up on the net and it turned out to be true (although I'm not sure if Youtube makes for good source enough). After I added the footnote, I noticed that it's the one single footnote in this entire lengthy article, which stands out somewhat strangely. I will put up a "lacking sources" template in the mean time. 石川 (talk) 06:06, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the external links, there is the official website. It it available in 3 languages ( French-English and Italian) but it says only French and english —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.199.225.141 (talk) 20:25, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discography

[edit]

The discography was vandalized with someone adding completely fabricated information. I have since added sources, feel free to change their format. And I have found some inaccuracies in some of my own posting. I added that Lara's self titled debut went platinum simply because it was stated in the biography. However, according to the official CRIA database, it was never certified. Her English debut that was also self-titled went gold. Her English S/T album also never went gold according to the German sales database. And according to the RIAA official database, the album never went gold in the US. I added this info just because it is on the album's page. It went to #85 in the US. "The Dream Within" was released to Latin radio where it peaked at #48 on Hot Latin Tracks and #27 on Latin Pop Airplay. But I still have not found any info on "For Always" being released even as a promo. I will be deleting some of the information previously added in the coming weeks to give anyone enough time to contend with it. Puckeylut (talk) 01:18, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Voice Section

[edit]

The paragraph is somewhat confusing when referring to her vocal range. "She is the owner of a 4,1 octave vocal range and can hit low notes and high notes from C#3 to G#8". Is '4,1' supposed to be 4.1 octaves or 5 octaves (4 + 1)? In either case, C#3-G#8 is 5.5 octaves, not 4.1, not 5. Also, is that quote about whistle register sourced? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.26.190.173 (talk) 22:00, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about her voice type? i would think big lyric soprano with good coloratura skills. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.66.144.216 (talk) 16:19, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

definitely NO mezzosoprano ->high soprano with big/massive voice —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.131.102.190 (talk) 08:58, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube Video

[edit]

I've undone a revision countless times to the posting of a youtube video showing Lara Fabians "alleged" octave levels. The video that is being presented is not of valuable information. There is no hint of an official seal or any credible references stating that the videos content is an accurate gathering of her octave levels it is simply fan made. Not to mention the editor is not posting the video in the "References" template but instead directly in the summary. The editor also seems to be posting the video in an attempt to garner views. Is the video that is being posted (numerously by the same editor) necessary? 99.132.138.142 (talk) 10:57, 28 February 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.3.88.118 (talk) [reply]

I just want to make this clear to the poster of this video. Once again the video in which you are posting is inaccurate and holds no bars to her actual vocal abilities. There is no credible reference of a formal testing of her vocal levels therefore the video is not reliable and should not be posted in the heading or the reference template. You are clearly posting the video in an attempt to farm view counts. If the article itself does not contain any content in which proves justifiable to claims of her supposed octave levels it should not be posted. 75.3.88.118 (talk) 01:31, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editing needed

[edit]

The section on 2006-2007 is very confusing, mentioning several albums without being clear what was released and what was not. Then there was a "return" to music, without any indication of why she might have left. Can someone clean this up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skysong263 (talkcontribs) 04:53, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spot the mistake retards

[edit]

Lara Fabian (born Lara Crokaert; Jan 9, 1970, is a Belgian-born international singer who also holds Canadian citizenship. Multilingual, she sings in French, Italian and Spanish, English, in all of which she is fluent.

Voice type

[edit]

Lara is definitely a very high, but also massive/dramatic soprano and for sure NOT a mezzosoprano. You can hear her voice material very well, when she sings La Traviata. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.159.21.11 (talk) 23:25, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
