Early Life

[edit]

I removed the term "blue blood" to describe Liev's family as blueblood means Royal Blood and Liev is not a member of a Royal family. I think to say that he is from a wealthy society family, as it says now, suffices —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.108.94 (talk) 03:30, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tell and Heather separated in the early fall of 1971. This took place in a rural area of the West Kootneays in British Columbia. Tell shared with me a little bit about the custody battle. We were neighbors, living a "back-to-the-land" life. For the vast majority of the time Tell stayed in Canada after Heather and "Huggy" left. I recall that the initial custody battle lasted perhaps about 6 months and Tell was somewhat despondent at losing, but he didn't speak ill of his father in-law, at least to me.LFlagg (talk) 17:35, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Second son's name

[edit]

Someone wrote that the baby's name was Nicholas Isaac, which could very well be true, but there was no independant verification, and my original reference for the birth was left there which doesn't give the name. I don't want to upset anyone by removing the name, but if you have a reference, please add this in addition to the one I provided from People confirming the birth. Thanks. Pronunciation

[edit]

I have seen it asserted that his name is pronounced "Lee-ev" and that it's pronounce "Lau." Any confirmation on either? 71.218.136.17 (talk) 19:08, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

High School

[edit]

While both this article and imdb.com entry list Schreiber as attending the Friend's Seminary in Manhattan, Parade Magazine has him attending Brooklyn Technical High School. I would side against Parade here except for the fact that in the Parade article, Liev gives a quote about playing football at Brooklyn Tech. Of course he may have attended both high schools, but no sources I found claimed this was the case. I've left this article as is, listing the Friend's Seminary as his high school.

I needed to edit one of my earlier non-constructive comments. 84.210.21.34 (talk) 23:34, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WASP

[edit]

How is his father WASP? WASP means "anglo-saxon protestant". Father's family are austian-swiss-irish-scottisch catholics. He married a communist... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrom1234 (talkcontribs) 07:27, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The word is written as a quote from a newspaper. In general, as I understand it, people can be counted as "WASP" even if they have German ancestry (for example, Herbert Hoover). I don't think his father is Catholic. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 07:37, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The list of supposed ancestry is the most ludicrously diverse list. I almost expected to see Chinese at some point. No-one has that much diversity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.72.180.236 (talk) 00:45, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

His father does have all that ancestry (see details here). It's not particularly implausible. They're all European groups. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 05:30, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think that including that is unnecessary and derogatory as is the common use of the term. (Ralph11 (talk) 06:37, 9 February 2017 (UTC))[reply]

Personal life stuff removed

[edit]

Regarding the first paragraph under Personal life: I removed it as it was completely composed of unsourced stuff about Schreiber's supposed siblings; the name of his dog and the dog's birth date >_< ; the name of another living person who was claimed to be "a good friend"; and Schreiber's supposed sports activities. See: "Biographies of living persons" and "No original research". Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 16:25, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Career needs organization

[edit]

The "Career" section of this article is a mess. It starts with "Early Films" (although it's not clear what time period is covered here) goes on to "Shakespeare", "Narration and Voiceover Work" (which could be better organized too--sports, entertainment and documentary), and then there is a big mess called "Directing and 2000s" which does include works he's directed but also additional stage work and films he has done in the 2000s along with television roles he's taken.

How about just a neat "Films", "TV", "Theater" and "Directing" reorganization? Before taking this on (or anyone else), I just wanted to post a note here first in case anyone had a different opinion. 63.143.233.12 (talk) 19:14, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Colorless green rumours question furiously

[edit]

Rumors regarding his relationship with British-Australian actress Naomi Watts (with whom he appeared in The Painted Veil) have questioned whether the couple are married.

I could almost understand this economy of slang appearing in People magazine. Almost. — MaxEnt 15:06, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

BLOATED AND CONFUSED

Material about his family and youth is disorganized and seriously overdone.

German heritage

[edit]

This article is in the category "American people of German descent," yet Schreiber's German ancestry is mentioned nowhere in the current version of this article. If his father is of German heritage, why not add that information to the article? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 09:35, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hyperbolic statement in summary

[edit]

"He later became known to animation loving audiences for his voice work in My Little Pony: The Movie (2017), Isle of Dogs, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." Known to animation loving audiences? I hope I don't have to explain what's wrong with this phrasing. Lifterus (talk) 08:37, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
