Merge?

[edit]

I'm kinda wondering right now... Kinda following Ched's suggestion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject NASCAR, should this be merged with List of female Formula One drivers, List of female 24 Hours of Le Mans drivers, and List of female NASCAR drivers? I am somewhat interested in turning lists into featured lists, and by combining all of them, it could be a somewhat of a "collaboration" between WP:WikiProject NASCAR, WP:WikiProject Sports Car Racing, WP:WikiProject Formula One, and WP:WikiProject American Open Wheel Racing. I'm going to post this on the other talk pages to see what happens. Zappa (talk) 23:33, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I retract my request. ZappaOMati 22:24, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone review the grammar in this article? Just in the first paragraph, I found 2 instances of wrong wording: (a) 54 women are started this race (b) Ten women has class win

This should be worded better, too:

  • Michèle Mouton is the only woman with a WRC win, also Christine Dacremont was a WRC driver.

Maybe to "Michele Mouton is the only woman with a WRC win; Christine Dacremount was also a WRC driver.

And maybe change this: Odette Siko has the best result 4th in 1932.

to: Odette Siko, who finished 4th in 1932, has the best (all-time?) result.

This article just sounds like a non-English-speaking person translated from their native tongue to write this article.

Yvette Fontaine Nationality

[edit]

Just changed Yvette Fontaine's nationality from French to Belgian sources: http://www.racingsportscars.com/driver/Yvette-Fontaine-B.html http://www.yvette-fontaine.be/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluyten (talkcontribs) 21:19, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gilberte Thirion's participation in Le Mans 1954

[edit]

There's a controversy with Gilberte Thirion's participation in Le Mans 1954 and the statistic here (39th place). English page says "...Gilberte Thirion qualified the 2-litre works Gordini but was excluded from competing because of her gender (only three years after the Coupe des Dames was awarded to female drivers) – her father drove in her stead in the race." and cites a source. Max Thirion (her father) is listed as driver. French page for Le Mans 1954 however lists her as a driver and her own page says "En 1954, elle participa brièvement aux 24 heures du Mans avec Andre Pilette, sur Gordini T17S.". In both result pages the result is DNF, so I wonder where from 39th place come into this page?

Marie-Claude Charmasson/Beaumont

[edit]

Marie-Claude Charmasson [fr] is referred to as "Marie-Claude Charmasson" in the text, but "Marie-Claude Beaumont" in the table; we should probably use the same name in both places. Also, the text says she has two class wins, but the table shows only one; does anyone know which is correct? DH85868993 (talk) 05:20, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
