Do you want to learn how to contribute to the world's largest encyclopedia? It's easier than you think! Actually, it's really easy, but there are a few rules to follow and know about. Wikimedia NYC volunteers will be on hand to help get you setup. Since the training is 1-on-1, there's no need to arrive right at 6:30, or stay the entire time.

Tech Workers Coalition has hosted a few of these events now, each with a particular focus. Some themes have been:

  • Digital surveillance and policing in NYC
  • Exposing tech company ties to ICE/CBP/Palantir
  • Tech worker history

If you don't know what to contribute, TWC members will be continuing work on these subjects during the edit-a-thon. Feel free to help out! A riseup pad will be provided with suggested topics and sources. Not interested in the above subjects? Just come with something you want to work on and we will help!

This meeting is unfortunately not accessible, due to being up a flight of stairs. No prior attendance at TWC meetings required, and you don't need to RSVP to attend.

All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct.
