- Maximise flexibility for students and teachers
- Maximise future utility of teaching materials
- Maximise digitisation
- Maximise openness
- Maximise capacity of graduates to have ongoing, convenient access to learning materials

[edit | edit source]This is an excellent example of the utility of an open educational resource - by using a free and open source svg editor (such as inkscape), the diagram below can be edited, improved, changed, and re-used. Do you know any commercial publisher which let's you do this with its learning objects? Unlikely.
