Inherited from Aramaic כִּיסָא (kīsā, sack; purse); from Akkadian 𒋢𒃻𒉌𒌓 (kīsum, leather bag for weights and silver). Compare Arabic كِيس (kīs) and Hebrew כִּיס (kîs).
