Description
English: Cape Blanc Lighthouse is located on the Gaspé Peninsula just south of Percé and alongside Route 132, had to go through a campground and then a short walk to reach it. The lighthouse is no longer in operation.


Nearest Town or City: Percé, Quebec, Canada Location: Northern entrance to Baie des Chaleurs (Chaleur Bay), Gaspé Peninsula. Notes: Although the light is still present in the tower (July 2002), it is not currently listed as an active aid to navigation. In January 2005, it was reported that the Percé town council was seeking to obtain ownership of this lighthouse. Tower Height: 17.3 meters (24 feet) Description Tower: White, octagonal, reinforced-concrete tower with a red lantern. Operational: No Date Established: 1874 Directions: The lighthouse faces Ile Bonaventure, a world-famous bird sanctuary. It is located off Highway 132 just west of Percé, behind the Marché aux Puces (flea market). Permission to see the lighthouse should be obtained from either the Marché aux Puces (if open) or the Camping du Phare next door. It is a 10-minute walk to the lighthouse. Limited parking available. Characteristic Range: White flash every 5 seconds; range 15 miles (1995)

Français : Le phare du Cap Blanc est situé sur la péninsule de la Gaspésie dans le secteur sud de Percé aux abords de la route 132. Il fait face à l'île Bonaventure renommée pour son sanctuaire d'oiseaux. Une courte marche de dix minutes, au-delà des terrains du Camping du Phare ou du Marché aux Puces, permet de le rejoindre. Bien qu'il y ait encore de la lumière dans le phare, celui-ci n'est plus retenu comme repère utile à la navigation. En janvier 2005, on rapportait que le Conseil de ville de Percé cherchait à obtenir la propriété du phare. Hauteur: 17.3 mètres (24 pieds). Tour blanche, octogonale, en béton armé, surmontée d'une lanterne rouge. de construction: 1874. L'intervalle des jets de lumière est de 5 secondes, et leur portée d'environ 25 km (15 milles). Surnom: Lumière de Percé.
