Creating properties

[edit]

Hi!

I can see you have tried to create a property ""DepEd Philippines School ID" at DepEd Philippines School ID (Q61715455). However, you have created it as an item, so you will not be able to use it as a property. Please follow the steps described at Wikidata:Property proposal instead. Thank you! − Pintoch (talk) 12:59, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Pintoch, I would just need time to go over how to go about with it. Namayan (talk) 11:52, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, take your time. If you need any help in that process let me know. − Pintoch (talk) 12:40, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Translation

[edit]

Hello.

Can you create the articles en:Baku TV Tower and en:National Assembly of Azerbaijan in Tagalog Wikipedia?

They don't need to be long.

Municipality vs. municipal district

[edit]

Is there a material difference between these two? Maybe they are fundamentally the same thing in practice, similar to how pre-Marcos barrios are essentially the same as modern barangays? If so, then I don't think there is a need to add instance of (P31)municipal district (Q2198484) into various municipality items. (But maybe it would be good to add this statement: municipality of the Philippines (Q24764)subclass of (P279)municipal district (Q2198484).) —seav (talk) 08:38, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I see RA 4785. So these are indeed two legally different things. I guess similar to the difference between sub-province and province? —seav (talk) 08:41, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think it makes sense to create a new item "municipal district of the Philippines" and have it be subclass of (P279)municipal district (Q2198484) (and subclass of (P279)administrative territorial entity of the Philippines (Q1350310)). We already have items like sub-province of the Philippines (Q55007345) to mark the former legal statuses of current provinces like Aurora, Guimaras, and Biliran. —seav (talk) 08:50, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Practically, similar to a province and subprovince, but I've seen a municipality relegated to a municipal district depending on their income. Namayan (talk) 10:46, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikidata. I see that you recently created an item Q113900337 that does not clearly indicate its notability. The Wikidata project only accepts items that meet its notability criteria, and your item is therefore likely to be deleted soon. In brief, items must have an associated Wikipedia article, must be needed for statements on another notable item, or must have both identifiers and serious sources. For the last case, a good indication of notability would be multiple articles about the subject in independent publications like newspapers or magazines. You can add such sources as references to specific claims using reference URL (P854), or as top-level claims using described at URL (P973).

Also, this may not apply in this specific case, but you should know that we discourage editors from contributing on topics with which they have a strong personal connection, as this may present a conflict of interest. If you are being paid to edit here, then you are obliged to disclose this. For a longer version, you might find it useful to read the essay "How to create an item on Wikidata so that it won't get deleted".  Bovlb (talk) 01:35, 11 September 2022 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 01:35, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
