Description

[edit]

Function to build a WD date string (the property given as parameter 1) and its qualifiers:

Dates may contain unknown value or a different expressed date precision. When the dates are expressed in the level of detail appropriate for the concept they reflect (day, date of birth / death, events, etc. / year, by a date of publication or creation of a work, etc. / decade or century, for a historical period, etc ..) there is no need to use these qualifiers. However, when it is not known precisely but with a certain approximation, it is when these qualifiers help us to adjust the value inaccurate.

The managed values are
* parts, such as beginning of (Q40719727), middle of (Q40719748), and end of (Q40719766)
* halves, typically applicable to years, decades, or centuries first half (Q40719687) and second half (Q40719707)
* quarts, typically applicable to centuries or millennia: first quarter (Q40690303), second quarter (Q40719649), third quarter (Q40719662), and fourth quarter (Q40719674)
  • In the case of latest date (P1326) and earliest date (P1319) it is advisable that their value be expressed with precision of year or greater, since it would not make sense to use generic precision in a qualifier that aims to make specific.

Operation details:

  • The use of these qualifiers, as explained above, should not be used with high accuracy dates.
  • P1480 and P4241 qualifiers may co-exist together, but will not be displayed if data = unknown value .
  • Qualifiers latest date (P1326) and earliest date (P1319) may appear simultaneously or separately. If both appear, the value of data is not displayed
    • When using P1326 and / or P1319 the value of data may be unknown value or a specific value, such as century or decade. In the latter case, care must be taken to ensure that the date value is not inconsistent with the content of the qualifiers. Example : date = decade 1920 + before 1915 or after 1925
    • It makes no sense to use P1326 and P1319 to indicate the first and last year of the period that indicates the date. Example : date = decade 1920 + before 1929 + after 1920.
Multivalued Dates

Usually date properties have only one value, but in certain circumstances there are multivalued values in these properties. The function can treat all values that have a property (between 1 and n). In this case, the treatment of the qualifiers is made independent by each element of the list of values with the qualifiers that each has. When you want to force only one value (the preferred or the first one in the list), use list = false .

Syntax

[edit]
 {{circa WD | Pnnn | item = Qnnnnnn | formatting = | separator = | conjunction = | list =}}
  • Pnnn = is the property of the date to be retrieved. It is positional.
  • item = WD item code to work on. Optional, if not reported, applies to the current article.
  • formatting = Optional. It allows you to indicate the format that you want to apply to the retrieved date (whether or not you have any of the qualifiers treated). See possible values in Module:Wikidades/doc
  • separator = Optional. Separator to be applied between values, in case the property is multivalued. By default it is a comma.
  • conjunction = Optional. Separator between the last two values, if the property is multivalued. By default it is "and".
  • list = Optional. It can be list = false to indicate that it only deals with the first value in the list, list = firstrank to get the list of values with the first highest rank. The default is list = true, which will handle all values of statement.
