Compatibility with rail-trail #Q2116321
[edit]Currently you can't add a rail-trail (Q2116321) to a rail station (Q55488) as a line (P81). I think it would be appropriate.

Transport route for "general" English
[edit]I've updated the label for the "general" English entry from just "service" to "transport route" as even the British English entry was called this and service is a much more generic term --Middle river exports (talk) 18:12, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- I have reverted an edit from yesterday which left transport service "is a subclass of" transport service, which doesn't seem good — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:54, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
- @MSGJ: The problem with the label "route" is that users often take it to mean the physical route, and then create understandable (but wrong) statements like cycling route (Q102307360)subclass of (P279)transport service itinerary (Q1067164), which leads to the inference U.S. Bicycle Route 208 (Q104897961)instance of (P31)intentional human activity (Q451967). I do a lot of cleanup of erroneous inferences using this list generated by Mateusz Konieczny, and this particular issue comes up repeatedly. The Wiktionary entry for "route" has the "physical path" meaning listed before the "regular service" meaning, so it's no surprise this error is common – "route" is just too ambiguous to make a good label for this item.
