Proposal to create a new email prevention filter

I propose creating a new filter that can stop emails from being added to pages (by edits and summaries) locally on Meta [this email filter will be private to prevent others' personal information from being leaked in the abuse log], and here's the message I have in mind:

M7, I would recommend renaming 352 to Adding email addresses and set this to just disallow with the custom message I made without being set to both warn and disallow. I would suggest a change to global filter 110 that can exclude a specific sentence from eswiki when users are creating new pages with a new page wizard, some cleanup and optimization, and excluded MediaWiki since it has its own emoji filter; here's the new code:

Please intervene with Lighthumormonger

Greetings, I engaged in some discussion on User talk:Lighthumormonger, and I have found this editor to be disingenuous. They have been evasive, obtuse, and combative about simple questions. I've opened a case on Commons because I identified serious issues of deception and false copyright claims. They've engaged in original research and other policy violations on enwiki. They had some trouble on itwiki as well. It seems that they've been hopping around, and trolling as they go. Their account was created as early as April 2023, but this alleged "Wikipedia Editors Guild" was hardly mentioned two weeks ago. Their topic interests are all over the map. There is a façade of civility and cooperation, but the recent disruption here on their Meta user talk page has left me with no choice but to escalate this issue. Thank you. As I just replied over at Elizium23's commons.wikimedia ani board posting from just a few minutes ago, I'm just trying to improve WP one edit at a time here. massmessage sender for Want

I am 'sysop' and 'translationadmin' MediaWiki.org, and can write mass messages to talk pages of anothers translators. But not every translator has account on MediaWiki.org as main. Sometime I want send info about waiting pages, but only Meta-Wiki user with a rights of 'massmessage sender' can write the global messages to another wiki of Wikimedia farm. It's all. Not done for translation adminship - to request translation admin rights, you need to follow the procedure documented at Meta:Requests for translation adminship.

Regarding importer rights, I think that would require some kind of on-wiki consensus (I'm unsure as we have no clear procedure for requesting import rights here at Meta afaik, nor do we have any local importers), but in either case, could you elaborate a little further on what you will need them for? Request for interface adminship (Pppery)

The oauthauth-tester group allows users who aren't otherwise in a privileged group to enable 2FA. Since I was an admin (which is a privleged group) for several years before becoming an iadmin I never needed to be in that group. And yes, I have read Meta:Interface administrators and do have 2FA enabled. There is nothing the metawiki admins can do about this on hiwiki. hiwiki has restricted "move" access to their w:hi:विकिपीडिया:स्वतः_परीक्षित_सदस्य group since 2017 (see phab:T164239). As mentioned, you would need to request autopatrol rights (hi:विकिपीडिया:स्वतः परीक्षित सदस्य) to be able to move pages at hiwiki, not confirmed rights, as regular autoconfirmed/confirmed users do not have rights to do so. EPIC (talk) 14:14, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
