I'd like to help out on OTRS because I have got good experience in incident ticket management with handling queries, grievance, & their resolution from people of varied background on different issues. I could use this experience here on Wikimedia projects. I believe in delivering satisfaction in rightful manner. I would love to help Wikimedia communities with my best effort. --  !dea4u  16:56, 4 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's good that you want to help out however, most of your edits seem to be on enwiki and on commons. Before requesting any of the German, and Spanish queues, you should first start to rack up some edits on those langauge wikis to get a feel for how the wiki works etc. OTRS members also usually help out in their native language not in a language they haven't exactly "mastered" yet. In this case, I suggest going for the info-en and permissions-en queues. Eurodyne (talk) 02:38, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Eurodyne, I do agree with your thought about working on Spanish & German wikis first. Well, for now info-en and permissions-en queues would be great to start. Are there any queues for Hindi(hi) language?( !dea4u  05:28, 6 November 2014 (UTC))Reply
Hello !dea4u, FYI - There are no queues for Hindi yet. ~ Nahid Talk 15:29, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
No issue over Hindi queues, It would be great to start with info-en & permissions-en ( !dea4u  09:28, 14 November 2014 (UTC))Reply

Hello. I'm a Wikimedia contributor since 2010. I would like to help in OTRS because it seems there is a serious need in french queues, so Elfix told me I could be useful. I'm a sysop on frwiki, and as a sysop my speciality is copyvio. On Commons I regularly nominate copyrighted images for deletion. And I contest people questions about Wikimedia everyday in real life. I've never been blocked. Kvardek du (talk) 22:14, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

OK for queues which affect Commons. There is basic demonstrated knowledge on what is required in C:COM:L. Kvardek du in relation to this I hate bureaucracy myself, but this is one instance where there are reasons that images need to be mentioned in DR's on Commons, e.g. so that they can be tracked and undeleted when out of copyright, etc. If you need to bulk nominate images you will find C:COM:VFC useful. Russavia (talk) 07:15, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Oh, thank you very much, Russavia. This tool will help me a lot. Well, I had too angry words. Commons is also complicated because copyright laws are complicated, and this kind of tools are too uneasyly accessible in my opinion. Thank you again. Kvardek du (talk) 15:00, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Kvardek du just be mindful, we can get let emotions get the best of us and we can swear like sailors on project (I know I do ha) but on OTRS just stay cool and you'll be fine. Russavia (talk) 16:12, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Russavia : I was angry against a system (more precisely, not exactly angry : very tired...), but I perfectly know that on OTRS I'm writing to humans. So I think there will not be any problem. swear like sailors ? I did not konws this expression, but you're perfectly right : my first name is the french word for sailor... I'd like to help out on OTRS because I am an active contributor in Commons and Wikidata. I would like to help to answer questions posted to various queues. I normally revert vandalism, find copyright violations and nominate images that are promotional, out of scope, violate FoP for deletion in Commons. I am familiar with licensing and copyright. In Wikidata, I revert vandalism and remove spam, and also do merging works. In addition, I am a sysop in Wikidata. I believe I would be an asset to OTRS and would do my best if my application is approved. Thanks! Jianhui67 talkcontribs 11:05, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I believe that I would be an excellent OTRS volunteer. My activity on Wikipedia has been sporadic in the past, however I am looking to deepen my engagement with the community. I work in a helpdesk environment for a living and believe that I can offer my assistance particularly due to the way I can approach any situation without bias. I am patient, thorough and understanding. If given an opportunity to volunteer with OTRS I will put my best effort into the duties assigned to me. I appreciate the consideration! , . -- Enti342 (talk) 20:08, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to help out on OTRS because I can help with uploading files that we have already gotten permissions for. I heard that there were a backlog of those, as well as tickets with people sending in OTRS-permissions. I am currently spending my editing-time on Commons, cleaning up files, categorising, but also nominating files which has no FoP, reporting copyvios and of course uploading my own photographs.

I know the copyright laws etc. pretty well and I think I would do a fine job tending to the queues with best of my abilities.

(I have previously applied for info-sv and info-en, but I got denied, so my email should still be in your records.)

OK, the editor has become more active on Commons in recent months, and has a demonstrated knowledge of copyright, licencing, etc. Personal experience with the editor is such that if they are ever in doubt, they will ask for outside assistance/opinion. I'd like to help out on OTRS because I believe that I have a good grasp of policy and guidelines when it comes to editing Wikipedia, and I'm able to politely point newcomers and outsiders in the right direction. I've been an editor with the English Wikipedia for the past four years, and in that time I've developed a keen interest in the anti-vanadlism side of that project. Indeed, whilst working in that area, I usually come accross many new editors – primarily through edits of theirs connected to vandalism, BLP content, unsourced content etc.; and from that we discuss their edits should they have any queries. Additionally, I have edited Wikiquote and Wikicommons. Thank you, —MelbourneStar☆ (talk) 07:31, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to help out on OTRS because I want to collaborate more of my time in administrative tasks. Currently I am a bureaucrat in pt.wikipedia and, due to this role, I am getting more participative and involved in the Wikimedia Projects. In pt.wikipedia, I am known to be civilized and proactive, without any block in my log. I also have good technical skills and I understand how parts of the MediaWiki software works, which allows me to develop scripts, bots, and make some minor changes to the wiki interface. --Diego Queiroz (talk) 02:39, 18 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to contribute to OTRS. I'm a copyright clerk on en.wp and thus have a fairly good, but not expert, knowledge of permissions and copyrights for texts. There are times when it would be useful to me in that work to be able to access OTRS tickets. I'd hope that from there I could in time also learn to contribute in other ways. I have a fair knowledge of en.wp policies and practices relating to BLPs, notability, conflict of interest and paid editing. I speak Italian fluently, French well, and have a reading knowledge of Spanish and German. -- Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:20, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Justlettersandnumbers has an attention to detail and would be a great asset to the OTRS team, especially with the permissions queue. Mike VTalk 06:44, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
OK on any queues which affect Commons. As per this the editor has demonstrated knowledge on copyright, licencing, etc, so I think if left up to Commons community they would agree to give him access to queues affecting that community. Russavia (talk) 06:53, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pmlineditor

I am an active editor in Wikimedia wikis for about 6 years. I would like to become an OTRS volunteer primarily to help answer questions posted in the queues. I'm mainly involved in crosswiki anti-vandalism and anti-spam efforts. I have been semi-active in Commons and have helped in Flickr reviews and nominating out of scope images. I'm primarily active in the Simple English Wikipedia, where I am a bureaucrat. I'm also a sysop in some other WMF wikis (Simple English Wiktionary, English Wikiquote and Meta-Wiki). Thank you for your consideration. --Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 18:10, 26 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Paracel63

I've been active on Wikipedia since 2007/2008. I'm currently an administrator at svwp and helps out on general project tasks of various kinds. I'm active daily on svwp, including participating in our mentor system and several quality projects. I often upload my own photos to Commons, and I've gained much experience in helping new contributors understand the OTRS permissions process and the CC licensing system. I'd like to become an OTRS volunteer as a way of helping out in answering questions and shortening the OTRS pending queue times. Many thanks for your consideration.--Paracel63 (talk) 15:24, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Comment: OK. So it is the amount of activity in the Commons/User talk namespaces that is lacking? Well, if that is a deciding factor… Please advice if/when there is any lack in my judgment. For what it's worth, here's my activity in the corresponding namespaces on svwp: [2] and [3]. Best of wishes/P--Paracel63 (talk) 13:48, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
No, it is not about the lack of contibs. in User talk/Commons name space, but it is the lack of evidence that you know sufficient of copyright laws/rules such as "COM:de minimis", COM:FoP, COM:TOO, copyvios etc. which is displayed on talk pages and Commons deletion requests etc. Josve05a (talk) 14:05, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Paracel63 as per Josve05a's comments, I'm just not sure if I can see that there is enough knowledge about the main issues that affect Commons. Could you possibly show some diffs on sv.wp that demonstrate that knowledge and if it is evident then sure I'll support permissions for sure :) Russavia (talk) 16:10, 1 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

I was co-founder of the Hungarian OTRS team and the queues in Hungarian language in the beginning of 2008. As the executive vice-president of WM-HU I had access to wm-hu since end of 2008. Because I was very busy in my real life, I retired from volunteering in the OTRS after 5 years in early 2013. Now, as a reelected board member of WM-HU I would like to access to wm-hu queues, and in my limited free time I would like to help out the volunteers in the info-hu and permissions-hu queues, too. -- Samat (talk) 17:15, 7 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
