Recent software changes

phab: and phabricator: have been added to the interwiki map in order to link to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org conveniently. [1]
Template:Tracked in mediawiki.org now supports Phabricator parameters. Other projects using this template are encouraged to update their versions. [2]
New page Special:MediaStatistics to list what file types a wiki has. [3]
VIPS has been experimentally enabled to scale large (greater than 50 megapixel) tiff images. Such files will also have different sharpening applied. Feedback welcomed at Commons. [4]

Software changes this week

The new version of MediaWiki (1.25wmf2) has been on test wikis and MediaWiki.org since 2 October. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis from 7 October, and on all Wikipedias from 9 October (calendar).
If you make a code mistake when editing a Lua script, you now won't be able to save it, like for JSON pages. [5] [6]
On Thursday, the editing tool for TemplateData will be made available on another 30 wikis. [7] [8]
