Feature summary:
MediaWiki should support some kind of integration in MS Teams.
Use case(s):
The MS teams wikis are not really an alternative to MediaWiki, but enabled by default. For MW users who do not want to give up their wiki, but do want to integrate into MS teams, some possiblities should be discussed.
Besides the regular "Website" app, that can make any website a tab in teams (also a MW installation), there are more different usecases.
- There is a Wikipedia Search app that can lookukp keywords in the teams chat in Wikipeda. It should be easy to make a general MediaWiki Search app out of this.
- There is a format proposed by microsoft that can be integrated by an app called "Incoming Webhook"
- Other wiki solutions have dedicated apps for integrating. See also here
- MediaWiki could push edit information to a team channel
- a MediaWiki API app could deliver many features...
Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
Switching to MS teams should not mean having to abandon your MediaWiki. Instead, at least some integration points should be considered.
