Welcome

Hello! I noticed that you may have come here from another Wikipedia, so you know a little about how things work here. I hope you like it here and decide to stay! Here are some links to help you adjust:

There is a lot to do here. Most of it is writing articles that do not exist yet, which you can do by translating from other Wikipedias, but have a look around and see what you want to do. Thanks for joining us, and you know how to contact me if you need any help. MathXplore (talk) 07:54, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Using 'film'

Hey! Just undid this edit that you made. We use the word 'movie' instead of 'film' when talking about movies, because it is less complex. 'Film' can also mean many other things, so using 'movie' is better because it cannot be confused with something else. Just wanted to let you know for the future. Thanks for your edits! 🤘🤘 DovahFRD (talk) 22:14, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DovahFRD can you further elaborate about the confusion that you're mentioning. Youneshlal7 (talk) 22:24, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Youneshlal7 Film can also mean photographic film, which movies can be recorded on. It can also be used as a verb, meaning 'to record something' (I filmed a video / I am going to film this). The word 'movie' is specific and simple, and is less confusing to people learning English than 'film'. 🤘🤘 DovahFRD (talk) 22:27, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@DovahFRD alright thanks for the information Youneshlal7 (talk) 22:29, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
