Hello fellow Wikipedians! It's been almost two years since I nominated someone here for adminship, but recently I discovered someone who is really helpful and actively around on simple. I think he's currently one of the most productive vandal fighters on this project. Therefore I'd like to present to you Glaisher as a possible new admin for this project. He's especially active as vandal fighter and busy reverting vandals, reporting them and also proposing pages for quick deletion, where he could make great use of the few extra buttons. I feel that we all would really benefit from giving Glaisher the mop. It would save our current admins some work and he could just do a lot of things himself without poking other people. I'm very certain that Glaisher will be a good assist to the current team of admins. He's often around and also often on IRC where he can help as well. As an admin on mediawiki.org he already knows how everything works and so he surely won't break anything. I hope that you all agree with me and support Glaisher! Good luck! -Barras talk 08:38, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Candidate's acceptance: Thanks for nominating, Barras. The sysop tools would help me to even better contribute to this project, hence I accept. --Glaisher [talk] 08:44, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Support User does good work. There have been times when Glaisher has reverted active vandals, requested QDs of their pages, and reported them at VIP. With the mop, he/she could have deleted and blocked on the spot instead of having to wait for another admin to show up. Glaisher could maybe refine deciding which QD option to use for a given case, but getting bad pages deleted is the main thing there. --Auntof6 (talk) 20:53, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[change source]
- His work on this wiki is limited mainly to ~1500 reverts of vandals, and some appearances on central pages. He's got a lot of commitments elsewhere on WP, and it would be unreasonable to think he will be regularly available here. Our problem is that we have about five or six admins who do almost all the work. Glaisher unquestionably has the quality any wiki would need, but he is not going to improve our situation much. Well, I'm definitely not going to vote against him, but I do not think anything here will change as a result of his promotion. Macdonald-ross (talk) 10:57, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- True, I'm quite active globally but that doesn't mean that I won't be available here. I believe that I'm currently one of the regularly active users at this wiki. I'm not planning on decreasing my activity levels here even if this RfA passes or fails. --Glaisher [talk] 17:10, 15 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- The last remark shows you are a good person, which of course I knew already. I'm happy to have you as a colleague in any capacity. Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:43, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
